All it will take a economic downturn to happen to push all these dates out. I'd be shocked if Ford got a whole new generation of Mustang to the market by 2021 model year. Volumes for cars like this make it hard to justify massive redos on a 6 years cycle. I hope I'm wrong, but history shows...
Ford announced well before the 2015 Mustang came out that they were moving to a new hardware/software platform: http://www.computerworld.com/article/2488011/mobile-wireless/why-ford-is-dumping-microsoft-for-blackberry-s-qnx-os.html
Apparently you missed this. I have a 2015 and am in the same...
It would be nice if there were an upgrade path for 2015 owners. I like Sync, but the new features would be awesome to get. I know it's all new hardware, but wouldn't it be awesome if we could replace the head unit for a reasonable cost and make it work in a 2015?
I've been pretty happy with MFT in my Mustang. A few things that I hope the new one addresses.
1. Faster response. MFT is a bit sluggish. The new one looks faster.
2. Limited points of interest. MFT database of POI is pretty weak.
3. Integration of phones addresses to navigation. This is...
I've been getting about 15 MPG with mostly city driving, using regular E10 gas, winter in Minnesota, and a heavy foot. It's what I expected. I can get up to about 25 MPG on the highway with cruise control. Still less than a 1K miles on it.
I ordered and received mine from Rochester Ford. They gave me a price a bit better than x-plan pricing when I ordered in June. The only point of negotiation was my trade in, but we worked that out fine. Very nice experience. Mike Harris was a pleasure to work with.
Same combo on my car. I'm so glad I got the redline interior. It would look plain/black&white without it. I was going to get a red car, but switched to magnetic when I saw it was not available with redline interior. Redline with red ambient light is really nice. Yes. I like red!
If it's like any other all-new car, production is not up to full speed. They are running the line slower to maintain quality and there are invariably production bottle necks on parts impacting production.
I've been impressed with the snow/ice performance of the base 18" GT all season tires. I had a dedicated set of snow tires on my previous car, a Pontiac G8 GT, and the ones on the Mustang are going well so far. I may not get winter tires. I had a 2003 Mustang GT with summer only tires and...
I'm in Minnesota and plan on driving it every day when there's not more than 2" of snow. I have a GT with the stock 18" all season tires and it's doing quite well in the snow we have had so far. Based upon how they performed, I don't think I need dedicated snow tires like I did on my previous...
My car has been missing from COTUS for about a week now. Based upon the last estimate, it was supposed to arrive this Friday. The dealer could not locate late last week either. Should I be concerned or does COTUS go AWOL once in a while?
I got an ETX number. It's on Canadian National Railway. When I go to their website, I can only check the status with an elaborate log in and registration. Not sure if that will even work. Is there a easier way to track their cars?
