Good god, my 98 Cobra vert weighed only 3500lbs and you would figure a 200K car would be have more light weight material used. Ever increasing crash standards kill the weight as well
Well considering a 460hp 2018 GT A10 can zing off a 3.9 sec 0-60, I'm pretty sure a monster like the 500 will crush a 3.6 0-60 run. The 8 series if going to be woefully under powered if the 500's projected hp is correct (even if you go with the lower projections).
A LONG time ago I had an 88 prelude SI. I had no illusion that the car was fast or special, but I don't think I had more fun in any other car (even my mustangs and cobras). The car drove like a go cart and I could take nearly any line into a corner like I wanted, and the car would just drive...
I don't think the OP was posting the article because he was trying to inform everybody about Fords decision..thats like OLD news now, and pretty much everybody had a say in it. I think the OP was posting the article because it was slam job on Ford and totally written with an agenda. Maybe...
That was a horribly written article
They just glance on the fact that the consumers are driving the demand for the the bigger vehicles, and specifically CUV's. Also, that pretty much all manufactures are getting hammered in sedan and coupe sales. I'ts almost like the author wants these...
Thats a $100K car. Not sure itshould be the benchmark, but it should be close considering this motors basic architecture isn't rocket science for Ford.
Prices in my neck of the woods are damn high for modern Ford V8's
A F150 coyote is about 2500, a LQ4 is about 1450.... HUGE difference in price. This area doesn't even have a bunch of car enthusiasts so I don't think its due to high local demand. I think a lot of these salvage yards are...
Ok show me a $1500 F150 with a coyote....Thats like finding a unicorn pooping leprechauns here
Shoot, a totaled F150 is possibly worth more than that in scrap and salvage.
Yes, disposable is ok with me. If I toss a rod or burn up a piston in a mod it will more than likely cost me more to rebuild than to go get a junkyard 5.3
Cost! It's WAY more to build a Mod or Coyote!
I have a 93 Fox that I am building. I looked at mod motors..way too expensive. SBF blocks are weak generally when your pushing big hp and you pretty much gotta buy new heads. I found a 5.3 under 100K on the odo for 850.00 including harness and...
I never heard or saw the interview with Mr. Hameedi, but I do know that was the official Ford statement I linked, and saw back in 2015 (the top gear link was the first one I saw on a search this morning that showed the entire quote) when the car was announce. I always predicted it would be...
