  1. Purported "official" 2015 Mustang weight specs - via dealer manual source book

10-12 inches too long. 4-6 inches too wide. 500-600 lbs overweight... Even if it trimmed a couple inches here and there and only dropped 100lbs I could swing it. The past 9 months have been a slow, painful letdown. The car will perform great, likely the best Mustang ever, but I truly despise the...
  2. What should we realistically expect to be revealed on the 17th?

My guess is huge build up with at least 20-minute video schpiel(sp?) on the 50 year history of the Mustang, which could be awesome, followed by the unveiling of a 50th Anniversary edition. Probably talk about it being available with a 4--hp 5.0 V8 or all-new Ecoboost. Also expect pricing to be...
  3. COMPETITION ORANGE S550 MUSTANG Thread

I understand and agree with the need for differentiation. That's not my issue with the full painted rear end. I simply think it makes no sense style-wise. They can differentiate the models without making the non-premium look, well, "off". I can't get over the rear not matching the front and side...
  4. COMPETITION ORANGE S550 MUSTANG Thread

+1 Looks like all non-premium models get fully painted rear. Dumb IMO.
  5. COMPETITION ORANGE S550 MUSTANG Thread

I thought I had seen it all, and then you drop this one on me. 10-spoke rims, full painted valance, AND a non-tri-bar pony... V6? Ecoboost? Who knows??
  6. What are the stylistic differences between the upcoming 2015 5.0 and 2.3 Ecoboost?

Does anyone know if any models will have the full body-color rear valance? I know we've seen it on one GT, which was likely a fluke, then the reappearance on the Comp Orange V6. Can anyone tell if the Guard V6 has body-color valance? It looks body-colored, but also looks like a different...
  7. GUARD S550 MUSTANG Thread

Does this Guard V6 have a body-color diffuser like the Comp Orange V6 we saw? I can't tell from looking at the pictures. Really hoping Ford ditches the body-color diffusers. Black splitter and skirts with body-color rear just looks dumb IMHO.
  8. 50th Anniversary Edition 2015 Mustang Likely Spotted, in White

Not many. Most probably add them to look "cool". That doesn't change the fact that by definition, louvers are designed to block direct light and allow indirect light. They're functional. Ideally, louvers are angled so that the driver can still see out the window. It has just as much to do...
  9. 50th Anniversary Edition 2015 Mustang Likely Spotted, in White

Um, louvers are designed primarily to keep out direct sunlight. They ARE functional. Granted, they make more sense on the rear window of a fastback to keep the cabin from baking, but they're still functional and serve a purpose, unlike fake vents and scoops.
  10. paddles vs stick

In traffic, I would much rather be in a manual. After a 2-hour session of stop and go traffic, my lower left appendage feels like a precise, friction-zone attaining, hesitation slaying, ninja.
  11. Your first modification!?

Federal Motor Vehicle Safety just requires turn signals to be either red or amber in color. Doesn't specify sequential vs non-sequential as nearly all vehicles use non-sequential. The euro-spec tailights will be 100% legal in the US, it's just the other way around that's the problem. But I'll...
  12. Are you considering other cars besides the 2015 Mustang?

I need to drive anything before I buy, but right now my prioritized list is: 15 Mustang, used rwd/awd manual (G35/BMW/Audi 90/etc), 14 BRZ, or 15 WRX I would really like the new Mustang, so I hope it drives as good as it looks. Otherwise I'll probably go used.
  13. Your first modification!?

With the current gen, a couple forums talked about disabling the sequential turns and it was a headache. Splicing wiring and ending up with electronic gremlins. Weird stuff happening with flashers, brakes, etc. If the 2015s are simply programming, that would be great. Otherwise if euro-spec has...
  14. Your first modification!?

Sequential turn signals = gone. I'm one of a small handful of people who sincerely dislike the sequential turn signals. Assuming the euro-spec version is without these, I'm hoping I can simply swap them out. Winter wheels and tires will be on the short list. Sound tube delete. Still thinking..
  15. 2015+ MUSTANG S550 COLORS and INTERIORS Compilation Threads

The newest GT350 leaks give a good idea of Oxford White.
  16. Rally Mustang?

I guess my question really is why aren't there any Mustangs that rally? Is it because of the SLA? Will we see more 2015s delve into rally since it has IRS? As far as road rally and any road racing, it seems the Mustang is and will continue to be competitive. The answer might just be that RWD...
  17. Rally Mustang?

So now that the Mustang is getting IRS, a "potentially" lighter platform, and a small turbo 4 option, I'm curious what everyone thinks about a rally Mustang. I know the top dogs in Rally are mostly econoboxes with AWD, but IIRC there's RWD classes. Also, I've noticed quite a few GT86 rally...
  18. 2015 Mustang Appearances

http://oppositelock.jalopnik.com/stl-auto-show-photodump-1508487649 According to oppo, the Metallic GT Convertible is at the STL Auto Show. Was hoping to see a coupe, oh well. At least I got to see Vaughn Gittin Jr doing drifting demos in his current gen. That is one sweet sounding 5.0.
  19. 2015 Mustang Appearances

    Woohoo! Thanks! :D
  20. Why no Naturally Aspirated 3.5L?

I'd like to think I'm in my right mind, and I'm considering a 2015 V6. I'm also aware that the V6 will make up the majority of rental/fleet sales and a minority of all other sales, but it still has its merits. Namely, you get near identical power and gas mileage from a cheaper, more durable...
