Welp... just went on my normal backroads run, about an hour drive. Didn't monitor anything, just drove. Spent alot of time in 4th gear in the RPM range that would normally almost instantly create a CEL. No CEL!
First time since I bought it that I actually just enjoyed driving it.
I can pull PIDs via Forscan but I don't have any other computer diagnostic tools.
I was under the impression that knock sensors don't have anything to do with misfires, it's the crank position sensor that does that.
If there turns out to be some mechanical issue that is not covered under warranty, then I will likely go the honeybadger route and do an engine refresh on my own. I'm fairly mechanically handy and I have plenty of friends who are. Luckily I have other cars I can drive so it's not necessary...
I appreciate that, and I agree on other components possibly seeing issues from increased stress. The ECU was re-flashed under the exhaust flap TSB, so there shouldn't have been any remnants of an aftermarket tune. And of course, if there was never a supercharger on this engine, there shouldn't...

There's no documented evidence that the current engine ever had a supercharger on it, and that's why I have a problem with that last sentence on the service notes. They've never seen this engine with a super charger on it, it's only documented that the _previous_...
Bought it from an Audi dealer. I never got the feeling that they weren't trying to fix it. They actually did do a fair amount of diag, even if it did take ridiculously long.
It's just that last sentence I take issue with. The current engine never had a supercharger on it AFAIK.
Got the car back today. Basically they did all the stuff I had already done, plus inspected the manifold. Finally the ran a misfire monitor reset.

Drove the car home and...
