I have Oliver rods, not Boostline but my new Boss crank also needed two small slugs to balance with the Olivers. Considering Boss cranks claim to be balanced to a 618g rod and Olivers are 663 with Boostlines claiming 696g I can't beleive that I'd be happy with either Oliver or Boostline being...
Great build.
I absolutely think that if you are at a level like the OP that you should be having your stuff balanced and checked. So we are definately in the same mind set for builds like this and I can't understand why anyone would sacrafice on this. You can definately save a few $ on many...
And the rods? Are they the same at both ends as whatever the crank you have was originally balanced to? Which is different depending on if you got a gen1 or newer crank?
You may be able to get parts for that cost but you still need it balanced at a minimum which will cost you some extra. I just put the parts in a cart on Summit to build that same motor and it was over $3100, without tax, without balancing, etc.. You can find some deals on stuff and get that...
I actually think it's a fairly good deal. I'd bet you would have at least $3700 into building a new one like this yourself and you have to do the work. For most, this shortblock looks to be a great budget build. No, it's not going to take 1500hp all day but for the average 800hp street car...
This is what I'd like to find the correct gasket for. Gen 3 Coyote heads on a Gen 3 5.2 block. I'm assuming that Gen 3 Coyote gaskets are needed but the bore space for those is 94.5mm where the 5.2 gaskets are 95mm. I worry that the the gaskets may me slightly mis-aligned and be in the...
I have a 19 base model 300a car with about all the NA stuff you can do. Long tube, CJ, cams, and some nitrous for good measure. I have not had it out since the mods so it should be interesting.
