I don't think the surrounding paint will be affected since the wheels already clear coated. Acetone and other solutions should only cut thru the layers of the touch-up paint but you can always put masking tape on the unwanted areas.
I tried this before on a white car's front bumper and the end...
You need to put adequate amount of paint so it forms a surface tension (a dome). When it's fully dry, apply some acetone/paint thinner/break fluid on a cloth and wipe it till it levels as if you're sanding it.
The proper way to handle chips is sanding, putty, sanding, paint prepping, and painting followed by clear coating. If you don't have the equipment, it's better to just bring them to the shop both financially and quality wise.
If you want to do it the janky way, get yourself a black touch-up...
Update
After going back and forth with the stealership for months, I finally got my car back on the first week of April.
Although I had many thoughts in my mind, at present, I am grateful that my car is returned, and everything is finished.
Here's a summary of what happened if anyones...
Update
My adjuster has been fighting against the dealership’s ridiculous quote and successfully brought down the estimate to a “reasonable” price (ex. Exhaust replacement, parts alone, went from $7k to $3k).
Fast forward to yesterday, after 35 days since the car went in, the dealership finally...
Thanks for your help. I just ordered a bunch of BR3Z-9A068-A and BR3Z-9A068-C. This is so frustrating.. why the hell do I have to do the research and purchase when the car's at the official Ford dealership lol

They said they won't release the car unless these two tiny insulated and double sided tapes are attached.
But how can I possibly find the...
Just spoke with the adjuster and his supervisor. Cash payout is basically not an option at this point since the repair already took off and there's a state law or something apparently.
Regarding the ridiculous upcharge that the dealership is pulling off, since the insurance company is the one...

Diagnosis code?
Oil pan
Heat shield under the gas tank
Gas tank (scratched, not leaking)

Catalytic converter lol
Exhaust pipe a little dented
To me this just looks like an oil pan damage...
My adjuster is currently out there at the dealership going through the damage with the service advisor. They obviously don’t like each other as one party is trying to minimize the cost while the other is doing the opposite.
Considering that my adjuster abides it, I think the damage is real.
Oh...
Update
Car's still sitting in the lot and absolutely nothing's been done to it since Jan 19.
It never even got on the lift yet.
(Schomp Ford in Aurora, CO)
It would've taken them like 10 mins if the adjuster let them put the car in the bay on the day of the accident, but instead he told them not to touch the car until this Tuesday when he got there to inspect.
When he came out, he apparently said, "I can't see the transmission (well no shit lol)...
Oh man you guys are really helping me through the day lol thank you for setting my mind at ease..
I also mentioned this to my insurance adjuster and the telephone agents before him but they were all pessimistic about it. Told me that it would take months or even years to go through the process...
