Thanks for the reply. I have headers. The car was tuned with headers and free flowing cats. Cats and headers are still on. The only change is, I took off the aftermarket catback and put the stock cat back, back on. If that makes sense.
I had my Whipple car tuned with a free flowing 3" exhaust (made great power).
If I put the stock cat back (the suitcase with the huge mufflers) back on - without a tune revision- can it damage the car?
I understand the car will lose quite a bit of power - that's fine. However, what I am unsure...
The stock resonator is very restrictive. I also do not like rasp. The solution I found was a 3" H pipe that is filled with damping material which is then connected to 3" bullet resonators. Currently, my exhaust is very free flowing and is only 98 decibels at 4500 rpm.
I'm not very mechanically inclined and I did this exact swap on mine in about 3 hours. Switching the front is very easy. I had to drop the cradle a few inches to get the rear springs out but it was still VERY easy.
Noise and vibration was not noticeable. However, it rides a little bit harsher...
You definitely heard correctly about it not holding up well. There are well known issues with the mt82. There are tons of factors that go into it's reliability, how you drive it being the biggest, in my opinion. Another factor is probably luck.
If I were you, I would stay with the 10R80. The...
It depends on what you plan on doing with the car - just like everything else.
I make 800 wheel, still have the stock clutch and have had no issues with the trans.
Its not deep. It almost seems like its the coating that's came off. The scratch is so shallow I would compare it to the width of a human hair.
I thought about trying to smooth it out or buff it but I'm concerned I would only make it worse.
I appreciate the feedback. It doesn't feel like there is a raised edge; however, I can definitely notice it when I run my finger over it. I guess I'm just going to drive with it and periodically check the shock for any weepage or leakage or any other changes with it. Its so frustrating, I know...
Just bought the Ford Performance Track Strut and Shock kit. Installed them this weekend, was trimming the bump stop and noticed this TINY scratch
I really don't want to send them back but I will. I've always read that scratches and burs are bad; this appears to be the coating on the tube that...
I literally stared at it for 10 minutes and never thought that the entire shaft was spinning.
That is such a simple solution, hopefully it won't be too difficult. I want to use a torque wrench so placing a wrench above the nut won't be possible. I'll have to figure out how to hold the shaft...
Did you ever end up needing the spring compressor?
I also bought the Ford Performance strut and shock kit but I am running BMR handling springs. Like you, I installed the bottom isolator, spring, top isolator and new camber plates and was able to hand tighten the nut.
The instructions say to...
I've had Stainless power 1 7/8" headers for a while now and have had zero issues. Additionally, I made big power with them. They make a considerable difference in sound in my opinion. They turned the overall sound volume from loud to - unbearable/ wake the dead after they were installed. It is...
I made 809 wheel on 93 with one 16oz can of Boostane. Stage 2 whipple, 72lb injector, VMP BAP, 3.65 pulley, full 3in exhaust, headers, no cats. 22° timing advance, 0 knock around 7700 rpm
How much money have you spent on your Mustang?
The total can include the purchase price + mods, any combination in between, rough estimates, exacts, approximates, whatever.
I was counting up how much I've spent since 2018. I landed around $27,382.37 (not including the purchase price). I...
