  1. Autocross; so what Mustang is best suited for it?

At our SCCA Snake River Region, we have a guy who Autocrosses quite seriously. He builds his daily drivers up a bit to be competitive and generally finishes near the top of his Class. When I first met him, he was running a lightly-modified 5th-Gen Mustang V8. One year (2018? IIRC), he switched...
  2. Poll: Where do you get your oil changed?

I change the oil after each track day outing, but I still take it to the dealership for it's scheduled oil-change intervals. It's an investment to maintain service documentation for my extended warranty. Besides, i usually have other service for them to perform when I bring it in.
  3. I am not going to get the Ford Protect (ESP). Am I crazy?

My '19 GT350 has 21K miles including two 4000+ mile road trips and 1271 track miles. I just dipped into my extended warranty this year. The coverage already has a good start on paying for itself.
  4. So I'm getting a new transmission

I lost the 5th gear synchro in my '19 GT350 in spring of '22 during a long road trip. The only symptom was that I couldn't shift into 5th gear without a little "grinding". We continued the drive home (~1000 miles) avoiding 5th gear, where we got it into the dealer. My Ford dealer has a...
  5. MEME THREAD 2.0 - NO POLITICS OR ANYTHING YOU WOULDNT WANT YOUNG KIDS TO SEE [READ THE WARNING]

In the 1980’s, A&W introduced the 1/3 lb burger to compete with McDonalds quarter pounder. It was a failure because most consumers thought that 1/4 lb was bigger than 1/3 lb. This is why I don’t argue with people online.
  6. MEME THREAD 2.0 - NO POLITICS OR ANYTHING YOU WOULDNT WANT YOUNG KIDS TO SEE [READ THE WARNING]

I sign a waiver that warns me of the possibility of death every time I buy a ski lift ticket or rent a wood chipper.
  7. A different wheel....(not for the purists in the crowd)

I'd pick the first one. Easier to clean off the brake residue after a track day.
  8. Actually, housewife blue is a pretty color

A good woman is truly a blessing. I was fortunate as well. Although, I tell folks that, "Of course my wife is smarter than me ... look who each of us married."
  9. It Is No Longer Unusual to Take 7 Years to Pay for a New Car

I've had a car payment for most of my adult life, but I haven't had a car loan since the early 80's. After paying off my '83 Audi GT loan, I set up an investment account dedicated to my motorsports hobby and continued paying an auto-withdrawal "car payment" into it. There was no impact to my...
  10. Random thoughts.......................

I know that Einstein was a genius, but I think his brother Frank was a monster
  11. Random thoughts.......................

Modified: People in warm climates will never know the bone rattling feeling of the John Deere lawn tractor snow plow blade snagging on a sidewalk crack. (I was raised in Wyoming.)
  12. Random thoughts.......................

What does a missile silo and an Alaskan outhouse have in common? They both contain IC BMs.
  13. Truck Owners?

I've had Suburban's for much of my adult life to haul the kids, Newfoundland dogs, boats and all my motorcycles on a homemade flatbed trailer. I had '86 and a '93 1500 Suburbans, both with 350's and a '98 Burb' 2500 with a 454. All of the vehicles towed great with regards to stability...
  14. Learning to spell

I before E Except when your feisty foreign neighbor Keith leisurely receives eight counterfeit beige sleighs from caffeinated atheist weightlifters. Weird.
