So short answer, it’s not plug and play. You will have to tap into the existing wires in the door near the door handle. Buy some T-Tap connectors which are very easy to use and self-explanatory once you see them.
Oh man...That sucks!! I haven’t watched the weather to see what’s coming my way... not looking forward to it though. Very true! The only thing she’s covered in is a car cover..lol
Yes the 3rd pic is how I got the alert and ground wire from the cabin into the door. I forget if this was the driver or passenger side, but I found this was the easiest way route the wires. I took a small drill bit and open up the holes enough to get the wires in. The driver and passenger side...
Sorry for the delay in my response, I didn’t realize you asked a question. It wasn’t very difficult if you don’t mind wiring and using forscan. I took my time wanted everything to look like it came that way from the factory. Unfortunately I did not do a write up but here are a few photos for...
Thanks!! Seeing as the mycolor was already in the door it was actually pretty easy. I used a step bit so it made the job alot easier and the hole came out perfect. Modifying/retro fitting things is kinda fun for me. I’ve recently added the 18-19 digital dash and factory BLIS/cross detection, so...

I already had wire, etc. I tapped into the existing mycolor harness in the door, drilled a hole for the light underneath the door handle and glued it in place. You wouldn’t know it wasn’t like that from the factory.
I bought the ones that goes to a Ford edge because it comes with two LED lights on each harness. The plan is to take one light and install in the storage compartment and the other from that harness and install it under the seat or somewhere else I want more mycolor lights. It was a better bang...
I pretty much understand where you mounted the led, but could you maybe snap another photo with the flash on and identify the placement using the attached photo. Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated!!
I would recommend shopping around. I bought two light harnesses from eBay for a Ford Edge. They were new, better priced than the mustang ones and they came with two separate mycolor lights on one harness, so now I will have two extra lights to put somewhere else if I want.
I haven’t actually completed the job yet. Waiting for the lights to come. I do have the door panel off though. You will be able to tap into the mycolor harass that already exists in the door for the mycolor lights that illuminate the door handle area. There is a small opening at the backside of...
