Egad...this thread is still active. Stymee must be proud. I haven't been on here for ages since I sold my Mustang over 2 years ago. However, I am now looking for another one....maybe a '20 or '21 model. We have moved and there are no dragstrips close by so I want a 6 speed manual this...
Wrench code. It popped on just as I completed a quarter mile run. The car was still pulling, though. I forget what the code was but it was for low fuel pressure. Never a problem or CEL after installing the DW400 pump.
There seems to be some variation among different years with the Roush tune. My 2018 had perfect drivability. Other than a bit softer initial throttle tip-in, it was just like stock....smooth idle, never stalling, smooth shifts, etc.
Oh, one more thing and this is a bit of a controversial topic: When I was considering superchargers, virtually all of the installers in my area warned me to upgrade oil pump gears and crank sprocket if I went with Whipple due to the higher redline and shift points. With the Roush, no one...
Oh yeah, I saw that thread. If powertrain warranty is a priority, Roush is the choice. For street use, the performance is stellar....excellent drivability and brutal acceleration....with sticky tires.
There is lots of talk about heat soak with the Roush. I never experienced that here in...
Afternoon off? You must be a fast reader. I would need a week.
What are your goals? Fast street car? Drag racing? Is a powertrain warranty a consideration? What is the climate like in your location?
I am surprised to hear that. With the Roush tune, the stock fuel pump was marginal according to many sources. I put a DW400 on mine to avoid a CEL for a lean condition. Stymee put a BAP on his.
Wengerd has a great reputation so he must know what he is doing. Maybe his tune doesn't...
I have an M550i. Completely stock, I ran 11.6 @ 123. It is quiet, comfortable, and has lots of technology. It is an awesome combination of luxury and performance.
With the Mustang, I would drive to the strip 110 miles away carrying 2 drag radials, a jack, a cordless impact and an air compressor in the trunk with the seats folded down. Changing tires at the track and then changing back to street tires became a pain in the ass. With AWD, I just drive...
Yes, I replaced two vehicles with one. I had a Lincoln Continental and the Mustang. I now have a BMW M550. I recently ran it at the strip....11.6 @ 123 completely stock.
Last summer I contacted 3 dealers about ordering a GT500. All took my name and agreed to call me when they had allocation. None of them ever called. I ended up going in an entirely different direction. It is probably for the best from a financial perspective but I still wonder what...
