Ewww...gotta go out of state for that price. I found a dealer after a little searching and was able to get $5k ADM. Still high, but about the going rate for the rest of this year.
They worked on the car every time I took it in and replaced various parts as well as tightened various brackets. I told them from the very beginning including the Ford case managers, that I thought it was the plate but they kept insisting it was other things. I suspect it was because they...
I hired an attorney. Lemon laws will vary state to state, but in California, if the car has been into the dealer for the same problem 4 times OR it has been at the dealer for more than 30 days, you qualify for the Lemon buyback.
Ultimately yes, although the real issue was the multiple dealers and ford customer support that were pretty bad. My car was in and out of the shop since January for a total of close to 10 weeks.
That’s a tough one. My rattle (which ended up being that plate), was easily reproduced after about 10 minutes of driving and it took me a total of about 9 weeks of the car being at the dealer for it to be replaced.
Your best bet for a quick resolution would be to pay out of pocket...
Correct. My rattle is finally gone after replacing that part. I drove the car 100 miles yesterday in an attempt to recreate the sound and was not able to. One interesting thing to note is that the part the replaced, FR3Z-7007-A, is actually a discontinued part and has been replaced with a -B...
Probably. I don’t expect the cat to be the issue but at this point I’ve lost interest and faith in the whole thing so as far as I’m concerned the car can be set on fire and I would be fine with it.
Just an update. Dealer has now replaced the intake manifold (not sure why but don’t care really at this point), and are in the middle of replacing both cats. Car has been in the shop now for 5 consecutive weeks plus another 2 weeks prior. Hired a lawyer and going down the road of getting it...
The metal plate that goes between the transmission and engine was apparently taken out of later production model cars. The dealer confirmed today that my car (HR874), did not have it. Another update is that the dealer replaced a portion of the intake manifold thinking that was the source of...
Spoke with the Ford rep again and apparently, the field service tech has not been out to see the car yet. Going through the back-and-forth right now with the dealer and Ford to see if the field service tech can get out there sometime soon. Going to give it another week, marking about 31 total...
I have spoken directly to the ford rep a few times now. They checked the transmission cooler line a few weeks ago. According to the Ford rep, the Ford tech is currently looking at it. Hasn’t found anything yet.
