  1. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

The S550 has several bolt-on driveshaft safety loops available. Blowfish, BMR, etc. I’m not sure where they mount, and the T56XL changes the length of the trans obviously... so a little research will be necessary. For my Factory Five Daytona, I ordered an Allstar Performance kit from summit to...
  2. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

Well come on, get this trans swap done!! Just get started and make it happen, it’ll be done before you know it. I want to hear the report after you’ve completed it. Improvements almost isn’t the right word...the Gen 3 Coupe chassis was a clean sheet design. It blows the old one out of the...
  3. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

The Bowler dial-indicator plate is around $70, which is annoying but I’m telling you it’s worth it. Not having to rip the front cover off a brand new sealed T56 and mess with the bearing races is nice. Plus the plate actually does more things (and better) when compared to the trans front cover...
  4. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

I just finished dial indicating my QuickTime RM-8080 bellhousing to my 2019 Coyote engine. With straight dowels, it was 0.0135” off to the 7:30 position. I purchased 0.007” offset dowels and faced their high-side towards the 1:30 position, and that brought my TIR down to 0.006 or so...which...
  5. 2nd Gen Coyote - minimal electronics?

And this, right here, is EXACTLY why I decided it was time to build the car I have been wanting to build since the late 1990’s. I’m not getting any younger... better to have a racecar when I can actually really use it!
  6. 2nd Gen Coyote - minimal electronics?

I am very familiar with John George’s Coupe-R build, primarily because he regularly posted the details, problems/fixes, and his setup specs online for to share with other builders. Big thanks to him for that. I have called around a bit and tried to get answers to the PATS delete. That is the...
  7. 2nd Gen Coyote - minimal electronics?

Alex_V Sent you a PM. Finally another FFR builder on the M6G forum! Welcome! I am building a Gen 3 Daytona Coupe-R now. Using a Gen 3 Coyote pulled from a wrecked 2019 Mustang GT. I have the original Mustang PCM and wiring harness, but the more research I do...the less likely it seems like it...
  8. 2018 Flywheel Bolts

Did you ever sort this out? It sounds to me like 2018+ Gen 3 Coyote engines with aftermarket flywheels must use a set of brand-new OEM Ford flywheel bolts, and install them with a T55 Torx bit? I bought a Tremec T56 Magnum transmission, and Tilton ST-246 twin-disc clutch (comes with chromoly...
  9. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

Yep, just use the 1:1 ratio in the transmission, or whatever is closest to it if you don’t have a true 1:1. The T56 has a 1:1 which is 4th like Alec said. Let her rip!
  10. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

Thank you @aleccolin !!! Also....I’m sold. Ordering the exact same clutch as soon as I find a shop to sell me a T56 Magnum and this clutch setup for a decent price. Looks great!
  11. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

@aleccolin - Any chance for those pictures, or an unboxing overview? Did you go with the organic-disc sprung-hub version? I’m about to place my order, so just holding out for your thoughts on it.. sorry to keep bugging! Lol
  12. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

@aleccolin - Have you received your Tilton ST-246 clutch yet? I’ve pretty much decided against McLeod and in favor of going with this new Tilton myself. Now just to choose sprung-hub organic or solid-hub ceramic.
  13. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

Glad you got it sorted. I kept calling it “rev hang” in my initial communication with Lund, but they were NOT getting the point.... I was a bit annoyed, because my explanation was extremely clear and precise, and they still asked to see log files of the phenomenon. So I sent them. Like I said...
  14. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

Here is the reply I got from McLeod this morning: “The stack height of a sprung hub is 4.040” from the crank flange to the finger + 0.275” of crank offset. There isn’t a bearing in existence that is less than a inch thick. -McLeod Tech Support” Before we get too far along, I need to make this...
  15. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

The ultimate question here is.....”Are ceramic (or metallic) discs and solid-hubs daily-driver street-friendly?” The choices are: 1. McLeod RST; organic; sprung if GT500 spec otherwise solid-hub 2. McLeod RXT; ceramic; sprung if GT500 spec otherwise solid-hub 3. Mantic; organic; sprung-hub 4...
  16. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

@aleccolin PM replied! Which McLeod clutch did you have ordered, the RST or the RXT? It should have been the “Power Pack” as McLeod calls it, part number 6435807M or 6335807M (M means RXT, no M for RST; second digit is 4 for billet steel flywheel and 3 for aluminum). Only the Power Packs come...
  17. Installed a Tremec Magnum XL in my S550

Congrats! As for the McLeod lightened flywheel, is this part of the RST clutch kit, or did you add it specifically to your order? Some of the McLeod RST/RXT clutch kits get around requiring a new flywheel by using a small friction surface that simply bolts to an existing flywheel (basically an...
  18. Lethal Performance talks about Mcleod Clutches (Tech Tips Video)

@LethalPerformance @aleccolin - Did you end up getting one of these sprung hub clutch kits? I’m building a Factory Five car that will be Coyote + T56 Magnum and I’m looking for a clutch for it. Car will be about 1,000 pounds lighter than the typical S550 Mustang, and make 500-ish rwhp. Daily...
  19. Rst/rxt sprung hub

I am also curious about the sprung hub RST/RXT series. They never used to offer it in sprung hub because there was no room for the springs while keeping the rest of the stack in the same positions (flywheel/pressure plate/floater/etc). Not sure if they make sprung hub variants for ALL the...
