That should be the MRC vacuum hose, Intake Manifold Runner Control. Should run along the valve cover to the rear of the intake manifold. Manifold runners open after ~3k rpm for more air into the motor. It seems to be an important tube, although I ran mine for a few days unknowingly capped...

Rode upfront with a partially assembled propane grill after a trip to lowes. From the drivers seat I could open the grill lid..made me want to make burgers. Also when I gave my stock one piece exhaust away, guy I gave it to used blankets and bungies with the exhaust sitting on the tail lights.
