  1. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

About to do a 6 3/4'' jl C2650 component set, I'm gonna pull my signals post amp with the AudioControl LQ1. It sums all the channels, gets rid of the factory eq (makes the signal flat) and has an 11 band equalizer. Also has an acubass system, restores bass cut off by the factory signal when the...
  2. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

Do you have any more information about flashing sync 3 using FORScan? You've brought it up a lot, and it seems to be pretty important to you, what exactly does it change about the output?? You're also implying you would never go without it in these cars, so does it really make a huge...
  3. JL Audio 600/6 Install

I realize now there are three plugs coming out of the ACM, every thread I've seen has only focused on the one. Any way you can go into more detail about how exactly you did the remote turn on wire with that LOC?? like what pins and all that
  4. JL Stealthbox Install - Tips and Tricks

Wow thanks man, really clarified everything for me. For the base knob you said you ran it underneath the carpet to the center console, I'm guessing you started at the carpet beginning at the bottom of the rear seats, but did you literally have it coming back up right underneath the console...
  5. JL Audio 600/6 Install

The only thing I have a question about is if there are 3 plugs going in and there is only 1 coming from the ACM how does it all flow? Does the prototype board connect the 3 plugs going in all together???
  6. JL Stealthbox Install - Tips and Tricks

And then all of the other pins just have wire going to the other connector. Do the pins that have the RCA's sodered on have a wire going to the other connector as well???
  7. JL Stealthbox Install - Tips and Tricks

I don't know what you mean by this. So you had 2 RCA cables and you needed to trim them back and use RearRight positive RearRight negative and RearlLeft Positive and RearLeft negative to connect them right? so you needed 4 of those pins total right?? One end of the RCA is sodered into...
  8. JL Stealthbox Install - Tips and Tricks

Also for the RCA's you put in feeding the amp, is it a full range signal? Sorry for the dumb questions, I'm just making sure before I go ahead and assume and damage something.
  9. JL Stealthbox Install - Tips and Tricks

Thanks for the info, I just bought the connectors you suggested to make the pass through. Great write up wow. Life saver man. Any way you could go into more detail about how you made the pass through cable?
  10. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

You guys are saving my life right now. I just have a few more questions 1. When you split the low level from the HU with the molex do you need to re flash the ACM to get a "base level output" like HextallS550 was saying? or is it okay to leave the signal as is? 2. Is it hard to wire...
  11. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

Okay thanks, I wasn't sure if splitting the one signal into two would result with 2 weaker signals or something like that. I guess I don't really understand what a low input signal really is. But yeah my plan is: -disconnect the factory 6.5's in the door -Leave all other factory speaker...
  12. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

Also if I choose to do a LOC out instead for the sake of keeping my factory undisturbed, will the sync 3 sounds go through the speakers getting this signal? And where would I get my signal for subwoofers, and for full range speakers?
  13. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

So this is what you mean by bypassing the dsp/factory amp. My question is would it be possible to split the signals going into the molex so that you can add your mono and 4 channel amp and also keep the factory amp running as is. (before the x over) The factory amp cannot take RCA inputs as I...
  14. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

Wow thanks I knew there was more to components than just power rating, but I didn't realize power rating should be way down the list of things you check. This thread has become a wealth of knowledge
  15. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

"Where exactly is everywhere" Every single website I have been to advises to match hardware based on the RMS rating. I realize that if you know what you are doing you can push more and just not turn up the volume high for an extended period of time.
  16. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

So youre saying the HU already has low level, but it has an EQ associated with this low level signal that needs to be disabled before you can properly use it to run your amp. What would happen if you didn't disable this EQ? I guess I didn't realize that low levels could have EQ associated with...
  17. 401A speaker upgrade

If the factory amp has built in cross over for all the speakers and you install a 2 way 6.5 and a 2 way 3'', does that mean that without any other alteration your new speakers are only getting the frequencies that a component 6.5 and 3'' would get and the tweeter in the middle isn't getting jack...
  18. Stereo Information (Wiring, Upgrades, etc...)

I literally read everywhere that you should be within 20 percent above or below the rms of your drivers, How should I build my system then? My amp is a 2000 watt mono D class 1 ohm that can also push 1000 at 2 ohms. If my sub is rated at 1000 rms and I have the option to do either, which should...
