Thanks for the update db252, we appreciate what you're doing. The Mustang is a special car so there are special exceptions. The link in the first page to the Fusion forum had no issues with the install and is using the original FCIM.
If your phone is capable being a hotspot for WiFi
1. Turn on your WiFi hotspot
2. Go to the WiFi menu in Sync 3
3. Connect your Sync 3 to your WiFi hotspot
4. Go to the software version in Sync 3 and hit check for updates (this may hang but don't worry about it)

I had that issue with Sync 3 2.3 and I have learned that it still updates even though you shut off the car and leave the USB in. It was still saying "Updating System Software" but I just turned off my car and left the USB in and after coming back 30 minutes later, a message came up saying...
I just checked the website and it still says 2.3 is available. Still trying to run the version checker to tell Ford that I have 2.3 and it keeps coming up with an error :frusty:

I know that you do not need to replace your USB hub if you want to use Android Auto, that only applies to Apple Carplay. Seeing yours is a 2015, I am not sure if the USB hubs are different compared to the 2016 and onwards. I have heard that the update does take some time to apply the features...
