I bought my car before the wrench mailings. I imported my car to Chile, but my brother lives in Texas, where they already sent the complimentary owners package (the manual, book and figure)
I'm really bad at these kind of things, so i prefer to go to someone more skilled than me, especially since the neighbor manned up and will cover expenses. The detailer will charge around 80 USD for the repair, so it is not really that expensive.
Thanks man! Your suggestion helped a lot. I searched online for this kind of service and there's a local detailer (with good reputation) that uses the process of applying paint, then leveling (wet sand), polish, then clear coat, level, polish. He has some pics in his website and the results look...
I was at my GF's appartment and the neighbor accidentally hit my door with his, leaving a small chip in the paint (the metal wasn't dented). :paddle:
He apologized and offered to cover repair expenses:cheers:
I started looking for options to repair the chip and, given that the damage is really...
lol yeah! Sixth gear sucks! Although I believe it was designed that way intentionally in order to increase fuel efficiency when you are cruising calmly at highway speeds
ORRRRR.... maybe Ford wanted to give us a great excuse to cruise around at 8K+ RPM (in 5th) to unleash that...
Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Given it is my weekend car, it would keep it protected most of the time.
Totally agree, usually door dings is not people being malicious, it is just they dont pay much attention.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I'll totally make sure to introduce myself...
This is actually a very good idea! I will give it a further thought to see if the padding can be inserted without making it to difficult to put on/remove the cover each time
It is really cool reading all your suggestions and ideas!
You think a cover would protect better against door dings than the door protectors? I've never used car covers because over time they could speed up how fast swirls start reappearing, that's why I'm really ignorant on how sturdy the covers are.
Thanks for your advice!
Nice! My biggest concern about non-covered parking would be hail. I'd get really paranoid every time it rained, hoping it doesn't turn into a hail storm lol :headbonk:
Thanks for the good wishes
How did the C6 hold up? Any major damage for being exposed to the elements or were you able to counter it with a nice wax, car cover or something?
lol yeah! I was watching a movie (casting Robert Redford) with my GF and when he came into scene I was like:
-"Look! Like my car!!"
- "WHAT?!"
- "Yeah... a Red Ford!"
She didn't find it funny
Thanks man! I will do my best to get that corner spot!
No problem man! Your point of view is valid, just not necessarily applicable to everyone ;)
Lol! The garage is underground, so no problem against the elements... only against the human element (lol bad joke)
I tried really hard to get...
lol! :lol:Little monsters!! This is why I'm not having kids ever ;)
Joking aside, it looks like a very good option if you want peace of mind while you give full freedom to your kids to play anywhere they want. Do you know how costly those things are?
Thanks man! yeah, I've been wanting to get a camera installed, but I haven't really got into investigating the different kinds of dash cams, installation, etc.
This might be a good momento to do so lol
Nice to hear he got it fixed completely!
PDR guys do magic and it is always good to have the number of one in your phone.
Thanks for letting us know how he got access.
Thanks for the advice man, but I believe we approach life differently and I think you are jumping quite fast into conclusions regarding my financial situation.
I rather live in a condo because I love living in the central part of the city, where houses are virtually non-existant. I like having...
