Perhaps you should have prefaced this with "In my opinion".
As usual your response is juvenile, lacks substance and is based on 'feelings"....In my opinion.
I received a couple of likes from this one... Ironic, it is sarcasm.
The ride of a ZLE is sublime. It performs and rides exactly as it's engineers intended. Al O. stated as such and warned that it was designed as a street legal track weapon /canyon carver/ hill climber.
If you have had actual...
Michelin Cup2s will be an absolute greasy mess on any heavier car after a hero lap or two. Especially on a hot track.
GY 3Rs take more time to get to temp, but have no problem with 3 20-30 minute sessions on a hot day, even after 2 previous track days.
That's what I miss most about my GT350. A MAJOR heel punch on the go pedal to keep the revs over 6K when downshifting.
Although it's not as critical in a car with big TQ levels, it sure puts a smile on your face when all of the tumblers fall perfectly into place.
That ethereal connection with...
LT5 is just sitting in the parts bin. There are no plans what so ever to power C8 with it.
If Camaro survives electrification and someone at GM has the balls (LT5) to do it, any perceived advantage for 500 on big straights are lost. LT5 is a simple, already sitting on the shelf and...
That makes perfect sense given IMSA's homologation rules. 2022 model year would be the latest available to Chevrolet for Z06 5.5FPC, given that C8.R makes it's official debut this week @ Rolex 24.
I'm putting off retiring a year or two so that I might be able to own/afford that car. My...
I stand corrected. My apologies.
What I was implying was that one can purchase (aftermarket) DSSV dampers from Multimatic or their manufacturer, if MM has done the software, dyno and fabrication for car models that they have previously fitted.
Like Ford GT, Camaro, Mercedes-AMG-GT, Aston...
Good points.
Purpose built track car? Well, in a way. IMO, way too much extra fat and creature comforts to wear that badge. None of the big 3 build those, ruffles too many feathers on the bean counter and legal floors. No room in the parts bin. Honestly, I get it, there is no profit margin...
Great comments and good debate here.
FWIW, Multimatic does not do aftermarket.Their software engineers are contracted by the builder to design/fabricate spool valve dampers for specifically targeted performance objectives.
In this, lies the problem here... "I don't recall reading".
As citizens of this great nation, We should never deny a man his 1st Amendment rights. Or expression of ones opinion, even if it is based on second hand knowledge or lack of experience.
I submit that if one has no seat time in a ZLE...
GT3RS and GT500 were both on Cup2s. Both cars had half cages and harnesses (not stock). Anyone who has ever tracked a heavy car on Cup2s know that they get extremely greasy after one hero lap or 2. Advantage; lighter car.
A non glitter/Hollywood version of how data was collected by Cammisa and...
Well stated. Thank you.
If your meal ticket is dependent on your lap times, I understand the need for computer controlled shifting.
I am somewhat of an old school purist, a tenth or two will not ever replace the total engagement between me and my machine, that a manual transmission provides.
Competition breeds excellence and is the vehicle for the great renaissance of the American muscle/performance/sports car that we are all experiencing today... A great time for all enthusiasts regardless of brand loyalty.
I'm thinking (martinjim) that you know very well that TT will be the C8...
Multimatic DSSV has specifically engineered spool valve dampers for Ford Performance in the GT, GT MKII and Mustang GT4.
The firm ride associated with DSSV is so "faux race car stiff" that Multimatic DSSV is the factory damper on Ford GT. So "faux" that Multimatic is in bed with Ford...
These are my friends, Corvette interior and Mustang interior. Ask 10 different guys which one is hotter and you will receive 5 different answers.
I'm sorry gentlemen, you can't logically argue taste.
Numbers comparison is still incomplete. GVW...Weight to HP and TQ ratios will play a huge role in the overall numbers game.
100-0 and 60-0 braking distances as well as maximum lateral Gs are also published for all of the other cars on the OP's list.
Until we see some real world (circuit)...
