I must be one of the few. Installed my new tensioner and immediately still had a chirp.
I will say, it is significantly better than it was but on a cold start there is a high pitch squeal and chirp which goes away after a minute or two; pretty similar to how the issue was when it first...
That is who I have been waiting on. The first time I contacted them about it, I was told to e-mail him immediately so he could get it to me and not forget before they left for the weekend. I did, never got a reply, and called right before they closed and could not get ahold of him.
I have...
I agree, their customer service has been really good. My only complaint is the one person that needs to send me a new voucher has not, and I have made attempts since August/September.
But, any and every issue I have had (minus the belt squeals was just a bad IAT2 sensor) they have not...
Sorry, I did not see this until this morning or I would have taken some.
The installation looks pretty straight forward, I think it is a 4 or 5 step process in total. I will not be able to do anything until the weekend. :(
I am not regretful of my decision. Did it work out as I had hoped, no, but it is what it is. All I care about is it being made right, and at some point getting to enjoy it.
As far as the car doesn't shift well, is that something related to the Whipple? I have the hesitation when going from...
I had installed:
Whipple
OPG + crank gear
BMR Springs
BMR Vertical links
BMR Bushing lockout kit
BMR Adjustable rear toe links
BMR RLC arm bushings
Viking shocks
Ford racing Knuckle toe bearing
1 piece drive shaft
Half-shafts
3.31 gears
I drove it for just under a month before the chirp...
Send Whipple an e-mail with your serial number of your unit, and explain to them your issue. If it is similar to the rest of us (which it seems to be), they will likely send you a new tensioner, which is supposed to be the fix for our issue, when they're available.
I think you may have gotten the updated calibration, that eliminates the hesitation going from vacuum to boost (if you have a manual). I do not think the new tensioners would have been in time before yours was shipped.
On the bright side, you may not have any issues or complications at all. I...
E-mail them with the serial # of your supercharger, explain to them you issues and they should get you taken care of.
Each fix seems to be a little different for each person, depending on the misaligned stock component, I assume. Those that the new belt routing did not help, a new tensioner...
Have you tried flipping your belt the other way to see if it will stop your chirp?
That might be all it takes to get yours to stop, if you have gone 15k with no issues prior.
I see, I think I read it wrong originally.
I would be interested to hear the solution. I am surprised you heard squealing right as it was installed, my noise did not happen until about 500 miles, and I believe most did not have issues until a few hundred miles, at least.
I would be curious to hear how it was fixed, but I can't imagine all of our chirps/squeals are due to the same exact issue. The noise is coming from misaligned stock components, so it sounds like the mechanic may have added the spacer to offset that misalignment.
Mine definitely makes noise...
I e-mailed last week looking for an update, but did not hear anything back.
Car has been sitting for 2 weeks now, can't stand the noise it makes and don't want to risk possibly making something worse. I am sure Whipple is working on a solution for us.
For now, I'll just keep driving the girl...
I believe you should be able to read all of them, except the IAT2.
As for the rest, I am unsure, a pillar cluster is something I would do when I get to that point, but it does look like a little bit of work.
