My initial report from the tech was almost exactly the same as yours, I assume if there was an issue with the air filter inlet on mine they would’ve found it. At least my new issue with the tensioner was directly related to the initial repair so it’s all on the dealer (much easier than my...

So the car ran well for about 10 miles - but after that I noticed that something didn't quite feel right and so I shut the car off and had it towed back to the dealer. Turns out a new tensioner replaced in the repair failed in some way and so back at the dealer for a couple of weeks the car...
  3. Brake fluid for 17' GT350 and other service stuff?

Haha i have a few cars and i run similar maintenance programs. This never once occurred to me until today.
  4. Warranty....is it too late ??

I went third party and boy did i have a field day when it came to a large claim. I think if you pick the most reputable company you can find (one with years in the business and solid financial backing), read the fine print to fully understand what’s covered and where they may try to get out of...
  5. Brake fluid for 17' GT350 and other service stuff?

I have a 2017 with 14k miles at the time and recently swapped all fluids except power steering (I’ll prob do that soon though but i just forgot to add it to the list). Should be able to sit back for 5-6 years now and just do pads and tires. At the 12 year mark I’ll prob give the whole car a...

UPDATE: Good news guys -Vista Ford completed the head replacement and things seem fine so far. Rain is pretty heaven here now so I’ve only done 25 miles or so and haven’t been able to push it too hard (I authorised a 20 mile test for Vista as well prior to my pickup) but everything seems good...

UPDATE: The warranty company have finally caved, at least to a point. It took a good few emails, a legal letter and a few strongly worded phone calls but we are finally getting somewhere. As of today they conceded that the claim is legitimate and they are not pursuing denial and also they are...

Yeah I've tried to work out a couple of deals on new cars are they have always been pricey in that regard. The service center is decent, not the best shop I've ever dealt with (a bit pricey and sometimes service is a little slow) but they are competent and honest on jobs and pricing not to...

The whole basis of insurance is that it pools a large amount of risk, from that pool there will be some that never claim, some the have small claims and some that have large claims. The idea is not to NOT pay any claim its just to make the correct calculation so that the ratio of claims is such...

UPDATE: Warranty company insisted on the additional tear down and to have their own inspector attend to document the work and overall situation. This work was done and the report filed with the warranty company - it took them about 4 hours after the report was filed to then insist they want...

Its out of manufacturer warranty being sold at the end of 2016 as a 2017 model as far as I can tell - are you aware if Ford would still get involved if asked? As far as I'm aware the dealership were pushing this as needing an engine replacement rather than a rebuild - at least at this point. I...

Its disgusting really - I'm someone familiar with these contracts and have a good lawyer but there must be so many people without these things who really do get screwed over. At the end of the day if you read the contract and its exclusions fully and it meets your requirements (and you can prove...

UPDATE: The warranty company did indeed try to deny the engine replacement, their reason was 'this car is on our excluded vehicles list'. Obviously this was crap and they were trying to get out of it as they had my VIN and it says the type of car (and at no point from quote to purchase was an...

Just make sure you can verify all maintenance (even if you bought it used) as thats a common out for the warranty company to deny things.

No its Vista Ford in Woodland Hills - Galpin are good actually and ive used them before but now just very overpriced (about a year ago they tried to charge me over $250 for just an oil change and over $1,000 to replace a seatbelt so i stopped using them).

In this case I knew the company, knew they weren't going anywhere and on top of all that the price was cheap. At the time I was looking to purchase I was preparing for a newborn as well so that likely factored into it thinking about it. Obviously to some extent you get what you pay for here but...

Sorry im in CA now - forgot to update location.
  18. Another blown engine thread

I did read the BBB and most of the issues related to home or other types of warranties - although I agree thats still not great. They are a big company with strong financials and I actually work with a different department in my day job so I felt comfortable enough. Its also worth noting that...

No indication at all - even at time of failure the oil pressure and temps were normal.
  20. Another blown engine thread

I have the knowledge, time and patience (and thankfully a different daily driver) to take it to them. In my mind there is no question they cannot deny something based on a exclusion that they do not state at the time the contract is taken out. Ill keep this thread posted on updates.
