  1. Anyone else drive like a granny?

Time and place makes a big difference on how I drive. The Wife is prone to motion sickness so I practice smooth shifting with the manual and try to keep the acceleration and deceleration to a minimum. On longer trips I can actually put her to sleep with the rhythm of gear shifting...just...
  2. anything gone wrong with your car?

Right front Control Arm right front was groaning at 10,000 km, replaced under warranty. Water leak right side kick panel area. Seam resealed under warranty. Water leak right side A pillar, seam resealed under warranty. Back left emergency brake assembly seized, new rear caliber replaced under...
  3. AFE Drop in Air Filter - improved fuel economy

So I installed an AFE drop in filter (dry not oiled) and I've noticed distinctly better fuel economy in the last couple tanks of gas. Used to be 13.7 liters per 100/km (17.6 mpg) here in the city and 9.1 liters per 100km (25.8 mpg) on high mountain roads and twisty highways. Speed on the Hwy...
  4. Love the reliability of the v6!

Was in and out of the dealership twice. They tried to say it was the windshield replacement so had it checked by Speedy Autoglass. They removed and re-installed, no issues with the seal. I think Ford Canada was dragging their heels on approving all the warranty work needed to identify and...
  5. Love the reliability of the v6!

So got my car back yesterday. Body seam had a thin crack up in the right corner near the windshield that was resealed by a body shop. Fingers crossed that's the end of water leaks. Dealership gave me a Ford Focus for a courtesy car while fixing it, auto transmission, no turbo. Ultimate meh.
  6. CA Gas Prices!!! Ouch

Highest prices in North America, thinking of taking the skytrain into work a few days a week now. Glad I have the 6 cylinder. Buddy just bought a V8 F150, probably around $200 bucks to fill up.
  7. Love the reliability of the v6!

Ok, so looking again at your photos my leak is pretty much in the same spot. Car is at the dealership, they just tried resealing the windscreen, still leaking, now they apparently need permission from Ford to take the windscreen off and pull all the mouldings. Giving me a rental until it’s...
  8. HELPPP!! 2016 Mustang GT - Front Passengers suspension creak and when turning wheel left/right.

Had this problem. One of the control arms in the steering assembly had to be replaced. Done under warranty, no further issues.
  9. V6 - Saving up for Mods, got some questions.

Might just drop in a K&N air filter with all this talk of drone with the ROUSH CAI, about time to change the air filter anyways and it's cheap at 55 bucks CAD. Wondering if otherwise keeping it stock but still investing in a MPT Tune will give me just enough extra HP to make me happy...
  10. V6 - Saving up for Mods, got some questions.

Hmmm...drone at 1800-2k would be a problem as that's usually my sweet spot rev-wise while doing road trips etc. (100kmh cruising in 6th gear at that rev). Maybe should look at Airaid or JLT for CAI if it's just a Roush issue.
  11. V6 - Saving up for Mods, got some questions.

Thanks for the advice guys! Might still go for the Roush CAI as it appears (based on the Youtube videos I've watched) to make acceleration sound a little more badass. And to be honest, it looks damn cool, nice to have at least one thing under the hood that is a bit of eye candy. Does it...
  12. V6 - Saving up for Mods, got some questions.

So the CAI and the Shorty Headers don't add much? I thought the difference in airflow on the front end and exhaust flow on the back end was crucial to really make a Tune do its thing. If I just did the MPT tune with the engine stock would I see decent gains? I'm wondering if the 87 MPT tune...
  13. V6 - Saving up for Mods, got some questions.

Ok, so I'm socking some money away each month to build up a kitty for future mods. Will probably pull the trigger when my warranty expires in a year or two. Most of the bucks will probably be going towards suspension, but want to put aside some money to squeeze a bit more power out of the...
  14. Love the reliability of the v6!

This new leak is in a different spot than the other one, and I'm thinking it might have to do with the rubber molding that funnels water out along the top of the window/A pillar... wondering if there may be a tear or something. Way less volume, just a small dribble of water so hoping it's just...
  15. Love the reliability of the v6!

Holy crap, maybe commenting on this issue has led to some bad luck, my car started leaking again. Same spot. Wet snow here in Vancouver.
  16. Love the reliability of the v6!

Just the passenger side. My car sits on a flat parking spot as well. Apparently this gap in the frame filled up with water and then was high enough to spill over behind the dash and the movement of the vehicle was key. I noticed the leak once I started driving after it rained. (it rains a...
  17. Love the reliability of the v6!

I had this problem. It took several days and was fixed under warranty. Ford Dealer had to send it to their body shop to reseal part of the frame behind the fender. What happens is there is a gap in the frame (that should be sealed) that fills up with water and then when you drive it spills...
  18. I Friggin' Love My Car

2 years now with my V6 MT and I still get a rush every time I start it up. Sooo glad I paid extra for the 3:55! It's my daily driver and when it's paid off next year it will be so much fun to take the next steps and carefully Mod it up. Drives great now, but can't wait to see what some...
  19. A comfortable cruiser

Great on mountain highways I've driven my V6 up to the Okanagan from Vancouver 3 times now and this car is amazing on the mountain highways. Cruises uphill in 5th at 120kmh with no fuss at all. Got 8.7 litres/100k last time. Glad I got the 051 package with the Lumbar controls, absolutely no...
  20. Anyone else keeping their S550 at/near stock?

V6 MT with 3:55 and the 051 package. Bone stock except for the Clutch Extender from CJ Pony Parts. My short stumpy legs needed a little extra reach on that clutch pedal... Most fun car ever - had nothing but japanese econo cars that were all about the MPG before. Never going back.
