I just sold my 16 5.0 yesterday to Carvana. I was looking for around 27-28k on private sales and it was on the block for weeks. I checked them out and they offered 26.5k. Took a week to come out and get the car, but they handed me a check and it was over and done within 5 mins. If you don't have...
Depending on the state you live in, your own insurance will do the same thing about aftermarket vs oem parts. Your bumper won't have filler in it at all if it's repairable. They just reform the plastic to fix the bumper if it can be fixed.
I am willing to bet there is more damage. Look at your tailpipe. Looks like there is even paint transfer in it. So your exhaust might be bent. Never trust anyone by what they say after something like this. I've seen many times where a person will admit fault, and turn around and try and blame...
Good luck on the total!
If anyone is interested car-parts.com is a good website to find parts. I use it for almost every other car when looking stuff up.
At the end of the day the insurance company will go with the option on what will cost less. Since the other part is paying for it, they are more lax in killing it. Otherwise, you will be stuck in a rental car for the duration of the repairs for your car that can take 30+ days. It adds up fast...
Can only see replacing the headlight, bumper, hood and the 2 airbags/clockspring/seat from the pictures. Older car, low value yet there are tons of Aftermarket/recycled items for your car. Depends on the value of the car and if it comes in around 6-9k max I would total it. I just totaled out a...
Normal procedure. No reason to sit there and do a detailed estimate if the car is totaled. I'm sure it went like this
A. Saw Car
B Went into the software and entered a number to see what threshold it was.
C Got the value of the car
D Value came back over repair costs and did a quick...
He is right about the member. It' can't be straightened, but the strut tower/apron can be replaced and cradle/k frame can be replaced. It's very labor intensive. Just because you replace something, doesn't mean it isn't as effective or safe as from the lot. Looking at that I say there is 1%...
99% Your insurance company paid for non-OEM parts. Non-OEM includes LKQ (like kind quality aka recycled parts from wrecked cars, and overstocked, Capa certified parts or etc) Most states allow insurance companies to do this. Body shops generally make more money off of OEM parts than aftermarket...
I got a 65 inch in. I had to take it out of the box and wiggle it in. The angle you have to put it in at is sketchy, and looking back I was pretty dumb. But it worked.
Just had mine go out last month. I hit 21000 miles on a 16 gt. It was fixed in 2 days. Every now and then when I turn on the ac it smells like finger paint or playdough. Is this normal break-in thing? Kind of annoying.
I don't have time to haggle! Gotta sell asap! 140+shipping or 120 pick up. I live in 32708.
They have 4,500 miles on them. I'm moving to LA and too many dips that would wreck me. Had to put OEM on. Yes, they are dirty...
I replaced mine at 500 miles with Corsa Sport Catback. This thing is just sitting there collecting dust. Was not cut, and only unbolted.
Free to anyone coming to pick it up. It is located in Winter Springs.
