My Borla S type has recorded sound measurements of 87 to 93 at 50 feet from edge of course at a point of full throttle. (otherwise, SCCA Solo rule measurement) Weather seems to be a big factor. Once, it was rainy drizzle and I got to 95. Typical nice weather is 87-89. Not sure how far away...
It's very close, but I never rubbed and I ran several concrete events (more grip and lateral G load). My camber has -2.3 to -2.5. It was so close that's why I put the 5mm spacers on. I went through 2 sets of 285s. Just my personal experience.
I started on 265 square and changed to 285 square mid season. I was going to go with 275, but decided to take a gamble, it paid. Car doesn't feel squirmy, tires don't look pinched. 285s got me 2 second place Pro Solos and a National Championship win. Running with a 5mm spacer on fronts and...

Yes, it would be easier to find a wider selection and even more affordable wheels if Stock class rules were not involved. Rules now allow to go up or down 1" (this is new in the last few years), but width has to be the same and offset has to be within .25" I believe is the number. Having the...
I figure 3rd gear is going to be a go to. It has torque there. I'm coming from running a 2013 V6 in FS, so I'm already improving my odds. Of course, they motioned to move my old car 2 days after I traded it...These are good discussions. JPaulson, I would love to compare notes sometime after...
