Ditch the factory Launch control. It will not hold the RPM's out of the hole. Put a real 2-step from MSD on it and you will be a lot happier. I love mine and my 60 foot times...
Speaking about piston rings... I did have my number 1 piston fail... Parts of the piston broke off at the ringlands and was in my oil pan when we pulled the motor. I was told these motors just don't like the high mph pulls. Mine let go in 5th racing gtr. Just say got the win and a broken motor...

I would go with spring pressure. Sounds like floating a valve. Both our cars with F1 prochargers did this. talked to a hellcat guru about this problem and he said to bump the timing up in small increments until it smooths out. Waallaaaaa it worked. and didn't have to change anything...
