It's about fast and performance, not futuristic, space age, or any of that.
I got news for you, the Mustang is a blast from the past et al. Every redesign has had some homage or nostalgic edge to the past in one way or another. It's just that simple - period.
If you don't do this, then you...
I think I could be down for functional NACA ducts too, like the 71. It might work better than a shaker on this hood. I hope they at least try a shaker hood setup though.
Remember, you can be passionate about the heritage of a car too. You were equally unwilling to accommodate my view on the subject as well.

Ugh, you are killing me! I thought there would be having some logical convo about the Mach 1 that will hopefully be introduced in the near future. But instead, we are talking about some distant future when Ford does another redesign.

It says in your info you drive a 2015 Roush S3.
So I'm asking myself, why would you say ^this if you own the S550 body style? And if you meant it, why the hell would you buy something you don't like, especially one that costs as much as a Roush S3? :headbonk:
I agree about the S550, and really like it since its introduction. However, I don't believe the Mach 1 needs to take steps in advancement like you are stating. I think it just needs to be a respectful homage to the past, same as the S550 does. The S550 has already taken the necessary steps...
You know, part of using a historic name means passing on some of its heritage to the new model. The shaker hood is one of the key features it had. If you take that away, then it's just another Mustang.
You can't redesign the Mustang for the Mach 1 model. We aren't talking about the next...
Lol, idk man. I think you just need to go buy a different car. What you've compared it to is so far from homage or nostalgia is nothing new or reengineered.
The S550 has way more queues from the past than people mention. They only focus on the front bumper and how it looks like a fusion etc...
Meh, there's no homage to the past there. Depending on how it looks, I'm planning on buying one of the new Mach's, but I wouldn't if Ford did something like this. If that was the case, I think I'd look toward an S197 Boss 302. It really needs to have a shaker hood IMO.

Whats the point of bringing back the Mach 1 and not having queues on it from the past? GT350 and GT500 all play homage to their predecessors in tasteful ways. Why not the Mach 1?

Yeah, it's a logical question for sure. I have an 04 Mach 1 and get asked it all the time. My feeling is that Ford wouldn't have paid for it if it didn't have a benefit greater than just homage to the muscle car days. I wouldn't say it's a huge power adder, but it does grab fresher air at...
