This exact same thing happened to me today. Tried disconnecting the battery, leaving it off for a while and reconnecting. Same issue. Were you able to find a fix?
Just in case someone stumbles into this thread like I did. If you have spacers, check them! My issue turned out to be the rear passenger side wheel spacer being loose. Must have forgotten to Loctite it last time I switched wheels.
Mine doesn't sound as bad as that but it's similar and it increases in rate along with the speed. I'm guessing one of the CV joints is gone or maybe something's wrong with the diff. Glad I found this thread, gives me a place to start.
"Stacking" is a bit of a reach for a 20mm and a 3mm. For what it's worth, as long as it's a hubcentric 70.5CB 3mm there's plenty of lip on the hub for the 20mm to go over. Don't really see the issue. Been done by plenty of people. Seems safer than cutting up your studs or drilling your wheels...
It was a mentioned on a thread selling a set of RaceStars that the fronts will fit on PP cars with a 1" spacer. Seller mentioned that someone on this forum did it but I couldn't find a thread or post detailing that with actual pics. of them mounted.
