That's then other Chinese unit,'it's been brought up before and there were a couple videos floating around.. It's a little more expensive, and I believe the TomTop is a knock of version of this (knock off of a knock off :clap2:)
Like everyone eles said negative first.. I disconnected the battery entirely when I took my seats out and again when k swapped my steering wheel because air bags freak me out.. 0 issues. Nothing will happen with no power other than resetting the clock.
Are you wanting to add an active alarm? Another option you could go with for a easy plug and play option is the Ford Permitier Plus system. It's a ford accessory, and has a dual zone shock sensor. On a light impact the horn will chirp once, in a heavy impact (glass breakage) the full alarm will...
Naw just take your time, you'll be fine. just follow the guide and becareful when removing trim pieces to not beak the clips. Mine took like an hour and a half, most of the time was trying to figure out how to get the bezel out and one of the pain in the ass clips for one of the connectors. It's...
Same here. Take out and disconnect the entire sync box (the black box behind the old display) to give yourself more room, pull out the CD player / tuner as far as you can. It's still a pain unless you have really little hands but it's doable. I didn't use a screw driver and was able to unclip it...
Overall the functionally is good, there's a few glitches (clock keeping time is working for same, others is jumping), the nav is awesome. It's still utilizes sync and is literally just a screen and an interface. Song titles display is the same. It's a big upgrade for us that had the base unit...
I would pull everything back out and check the little tabs that pop in through the lighter into the bezel. I had a hard time getting them to all pop back in right
I didn't disconnect my battery, but it's always recommended when doing anything with the electronics. I more so didn't because I was doing it at night, in a garage with not the best lighting and needed my interior lights. But you SHoUlD just to prevent shorting anything out. The only time I ever...
Ill take $270 shipped for my second unit if anyone wants it just to match the price through tomtop- really not trying to make a profit on it, no reason to have it kicking around.
Bit of a hectic week, finally got the video I made uploaded to youtube.. most of the stuff I mention was already...
Same..pushed it hard to get it to sit right, and it didn't worked. Literally had to push to the point I thought it was gonna break for it to snap in. It sits tight, mine might have been bent. You got the first DOA! That sucks
It would of had to of been the internal memory. The SD card only has the maps and Primo info for the nav. I plugged the card into my laptop to see what was on it before
Thats the wall we've been hitting- noone has been able to track down the actual manufacturer. Theres really no info on the back of the unit, but it might have a name in Chinese, maybe you can send this pic to your friend in China and see if they can read what it says? They are coming in generic...
Interested as well, I just hooked mine up to the window fuse- so the stay on with the car, and when the car is off until a door is open. But I wouldn't mind hooking them up this way so they dim. The ones that I have I bought from amazon many years ago, and they have a ton of color combo's.. I...
I agree, because this thread has been flooded and pulled a bunch of different directions. Which is great that there's so many people active with this don't get me wrong, but it's getting confusing especially if someone starts reading it from start to end. We need to clean it up so other people...
