I tried looking this up, and it seems like no one else has had this problem, so I'll ask here. I'll outline my issue below:
- I've had my Scosche dash kit for a year and a half, had no problems (professionally installed).
- A couple weeks ago, it stopped working. The radio was still working...

I'm planning on going with the top end Pioneer unit. I believe it's the 8200. The shop I'm getting my stuff primarily has Kenwood and Pioneer units; they actually like the Kenwood better, but the plastic buttons have a better feel, and the the screen can be made completely dark on the Pioneer...
If changing the oil is the only time I'm lifting up my car, I imagine there's no point in me getting the rails at all, is that correct? If not, why can't I just put the car on jack stands for an hour?
I'm completely with you on this. Even if it were cheaper to go the OEM SYNC3 route (which it isn't once you figure that you need aftermarket sound processing, which ironically gets rid of many of the advantages of remaining 'stock'), I'd much rather have the ability to have a better aftermarket...
Your point speaks directly to what I asked. So as long as you swap in a new microphone (a better one), and find a way to hook up the camera to the new HU (which shouldn't be an issue, from what I understand), you can still retain all the SW functionality with the Scosche unit, correct?
Gotcha. In lieu of that, you can still use SWC and use a new, better microphone hooked up to a good HU if you use the Schosche unit (in theory), correct?
Assuming that the HU can do voice controls, is there anythign that you'd get with the idatalink that you won't be able to acheive with, say...
coconut, I can't see anything in your post. No pic shows through.
FWIW, I just got off the phone with the fine folks over at Maestro/idatalink:
They know about the huge demand and are working on it, but are in preliminary stages. They don't yet have a working prototype, but they are working on...
Understood that some work still needs to be done. What I was getting at, however, is that it's not simply a plastic mounting bracket, but the wiring should be taken care of as well, correct? I assume this will cost somewhere around $500-600? Is there a rough ETA? Any other info you can share?
By kit, do you mean that we'll be able to wire up aftermarket head units without any issues and retain steering wheel controls, etc., or is this purely a plastic mountain bracket?
Quick update: I had the system tuned in, and they switched out the DSP to a new one, and in the process, the sound is quieter; I have thus determined (very unscientifically) that there is artificial sound pumping into the car. For me, I prefer it this way.
I do not know what was done to get it...
Hi guys,
I'm wondering if what I'm feeling is normal; whenever I put down my left foot on the clutch to get into a new gear, there seems to be a break in the smooth depression of the pedal when I'm about 2/3 down. On top of the click that I feel, there's a slight audible click as well.
Is...
I have a base radio in my GT350 and it was installed by a local reputable shop, but i'm having an issue;
when I turn the car off, about half the time everything turns off just fine. The other half of the time, the amps, sub controller, and digital sound processor all stay on for a while (at...
