Personally gutted about this rating. Actually, not about the rating but the feeling that the car is not as safe as I expected. I sold my TVR for two reasons, one being the lack of seats and two being the awful crash protection offered (having become a parent both points became important to...
It probably happened just after you got home / walking back to the house. I noticed some flashing lights on my drive and looked out, checked the car and it was unlocked, I had been locking it and unlocking it from the lounge by accident. The fob is super sensitised it seems.
Good. Pleased to read it is not just me. I pulled out to overtake dropped down to 3rd but would have been at about 2,500rpm, floored it, hardly anything happened... I was just thinking as I slowly pulled alongside the other guy, hmm, something's not right here... I glanced at the dials...
Thanks Manders Mustang and benanderson89
This is good to hear. I look forward to it calming a bit!
When the car settles to a warm idle it does sound amazing, exactly the V8 burble I was hoping for. Nice little bit of overrun on deceleration too, promising for the future. Will post soon...
I have just had mine fitted. I just re-read your words. It is loud. I'm not convinced just yet. It sounds awesome at start-up, shifts and when moving, but getting from 0-20/30mph is pretty anti-social... I live on a pretty busy road, I feel like everyone is looking at me when I pull away...
Agree, pulling away in 2nd in a v8 is nice an easy, run to the red line and drop into 6th, happy days.
My TVR was so light (with lots of torque) that anything shy of a stop would be fine in 3rd, then you hammer through the full rev range in 3rd, such an awesome range of noises... ah I should...
Hmm, maybe I should spend longer watching the road when I am driving, I have seen about 50 now! However, spotted my first twin on Saturday - a Guard Grey on the A14 near Cambridge. Pleased to report that it was looking good!
Just go into track apps and check the accelerometer when you pick it up? They probably would forget to reset this and records most extreme forces applied to the car. I guess the mileage is not important, it is how hard it is driven, right? I'll reset mine and drive normally and let you know what...
Yup, the track day has made me want to do more track days, not more in my own car though, that was a one off. It's a weird feeling putting a helmet on to get in your own car...
Certainly been described like that before! The track day was so much fun, still buzzing from it. I also have a new found respect for my motor and what it is capable of.
There is a USA thread, just thought I'd see what we are all achieving. Some USA motors are getting over 1G on acceleration, when run in I'll find a big hill...
My first track day, stock car, Silverstone International Circuit (UK). As you'll see from the mileage, still running her in, hence the lower acceleration figures. No limits through the corners though :headbang:
