While I was out today taking care of various things I figured why not stop by the Dodge dealer and look at the Challangers. Honestly I am not really (or was not) considering one but figured what the hell. There were several R/T's at the dealer but at 375hp I was not interested so I drove the...
I have drove two Camaro SS's, auto and stick. Both felt like they had a miss at idle, both audible and in feel. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just a characteristic of the LT1.
They also have R/T's but 375hp is a let down went a base GT is priced the same. Saw a shaker hood model is person and it looked sweet but adds around $4k to the price. Not sure if it's bunbled with other options.
I looked at a few Challangers while getting the oil changed in my Jeep. Style wise they are very good looking but they are just to big for my taste. On top of that the Scat Pack starts at around $38k. If it we smaller and lighter it would be on my list to buy.
What was your Costco pricing? I am not sure if it vary's by dealer or location, but here in the Seattle area I was quoted $700 below invoice plus any incentives.
That LT5 was built by Mercury marine correct? I work in the marine business and usually anything boat related drains you wallet fast! Awesome engine for its time and still is.
Here in the Seattle area only a few dealers have Camaros and the ones that do only have one or two. Apparently there was a huge quality control hold and I can see why because owners (like ZaneWayne) love there 8spd autos but the one I drove had shifting issues.
I thougt the Camaro plastic was nice other than the shiny plastic on the center console. The mustang also has it on the center console and upper doors which I think both brands could spend a little extra to get rid of.
The few dealers that have had Camaros for several weeks still have the...
For the average non enthusiast buyer I think the Camaro will have a hard time. My wife (non enthusiast) and I have look at both and one of the first things she said was she can't see much out of it and would feel uncomfortable driving it, but the Mustang was fine for her. Now turn her into...
Finally drove a 6spd Camaro and it was a much better experiance than the automatic. It has slightly better clutch feel than the mustang but the hill assist can make 1st gear starts very inconsistent from time to time. My 13 Jeep Wrangler has this and once I disabled it accelerating from a stop...
Manufactures tend to use the same basic platform in multiple cars, saves money. LS1? Do you mean LT1?
After time the high end stuff tend to trickle down to less expensive cars, which is great for us!
That is what I got quoted for when I was looking at ordering a premium GT PP so when I saw the Camaro price of $47k that hard pill to swallow turned into a suppository.
If you got rid of the sunroof, auto and dual mode exhaust you would be just under $44k.
