BMR works with a guy that will sell you the lower control arms with the LCA bearing installed, and then he will give you a partial refund once you return your lower control arms back to him. It's not the route I went as I had plenty of down time during the winter, but I did consider it. Just...
I bought a used DSS shaft for a manual, installed it and have not had a single issue. I have also read that some people believe that if you have aftermarket half shafts (which I do), you are less likely to experience any issues. I can't speak for anyone else, but for whatever reason my DS...
Is the evaporator issue primarily limited to warmer climates? Most of the cars that seem to have problems apear to be from states such as FL, TX, etc. My warranty is about to expire, and I have contemplated buying Ford ESP just out of fear of this happening. However, my local dealership said...
Maybe at the track...not sure as I only use bias ply at the track. On the street, however, I haven't had issues with wheelhop since adding a few components from BMR. I've since gradually thrown the entire BMR catalog at it, and wheelhop just isn't an issue on the street (and I believe that is...
I did not notice anything unusual, which is what I thought was especially scary. I had purchased a DSS shaft that I had found used, went to install it and was shocked to find everything mangled when removing the OEM shaft.
I have a DSS shaft/MT-82 and don't have any vibration issues/noises. I was concerned about that prior to the install, but I didn't end up needing to look for solutions. However, I remember reading a number of threads in which people were able to correct the problem by changing the pinion...
I have the DSS aluminum shaft and am happy with it. I only picked that one as I got a good deal on a used one from a forum member. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the popular choices.
I did it mostly like the CIPP video, but on jack stands. It took a long time (probably 12 hours), but I wasn't rushing. I did have to lift the motor some with a floor jack and a piece of wood.
I wasn't having any issues with the car. The car has a Vortech with a RXT and makes around 700whp. I'm sure the damage was done while previously at the track and launching with slicks. I typically run around on DR's, but I don't beat on the car on the street.
I replaced my stock driveshaft a short while ago after buying a used 1 piece from a fellow forum member. I was quite surprised to find how mangled the bolts were on the stock shaft when I went to replace it. I was glad I found this before going to the dragstrip the following day!
I've had my MGW for almost a year and have never experienced the noise you are describing. There was quite a bit of sound deadening material that came with the shifter and I made sure to install. I know you bought yours used; did it come with, or did you acquire on your own, the sound...
The early FRPP half shafts used a larger boot that sometimes would rub on the shocks. Although I didn't have that particular problem, when I sent my axels back to Gforce to have warranty work done for leaking cv joints, they told me about the newer boots and replaced those for me as well.
I bought a used DSS aluminum shaft recently from a fellow forum member. I couldn't be happier. I haven't noticed any additional NVH. I ran the 1/4 last weekend and was up to 134, and all was good.
