I bought an SRT because I liked ....
the way it looks and drives. I like the mustang as well. The SRT is a well built car, has nice options. It' s very fun on long cruises. I saw a Steeda Mustang the other day (2017). It looked like a dark red with tinted windows and black rims. Very nice.
Stock M5 is about egual to SRT Cherokee (60mph/quarter mile)
Both the X5 or the SRT GC will beat a 5.0 Stang off the line because of AWD. Both will arrive at 60 mph at about the same time as the 5.0. The 5.0 catches up and beats both SUV's in the 1/4 mile.
The stock 2015 X5M gets to 60 mph...
The 2018 Challenger may be
on an Alfa Romeo based chassis/body. If it is, it will probably weigh several hundred pounds less. It will probably run a V6 TT or a 6.4 that has been tweaked to 500 HP. (the Hellcat/Demons will keep the supercharged 6.2).
No one knows what will actually happen...
When I used to race, I had a race car
Race car in that it was an old stripped down 88 Mustang GT that was not driven on the street. It was not pretty. I didn't worry about damaging it. I think those worried about economical ways to race....should consider building a race car. I don't track my...
.2 seconds. hmmm The differences will become miniscule as time goes on. The prices will vary wildly. People will be paying for fit, looks and craftsmanship but everyday guys will have basically the same performance.
But the 16 Camaro is ugly
It could have 800 HP and 6 piston Brembos with 16" disc brakes and it would still be ugly. You can fix slow but it's difficult to fix ugly.
Now, if you want a good looking Camaro. Why not buy a used ZL1 (the versions with round headlights)? I bet you could get one...
Tires are "consumables"
Yep.
IMO they should not carry much weight in a car comparo. They are not "Mods" IMO. They do enhance performance greatly, and everyone should get better tires....period.
To say a car is better because of what stock tires come with the car, is like saying one is...
OP says the Camaro "is a generation ahead"
No. Performance wise, it's "One Iteration of the Muscle Car War--Ahead." Meaning, the pendulum swung GM's way because they introduced the 16 SS a year plus later than the 15 Stang.
This "iteration" is not huge. It's what you would expect. It will be...
This is not new and does not add weight....
....that was already not there. AWD Chargers have been around for a while. All they did was make it available to Challengers (which only really differ in body shape). The A8 will make it faster and feel like there is more Q. No V6 Chargers/Challengers...
It could be
I bought what I wanted. I'm sure there is a rusty Fox Body (with $15K of mods) waiting to embarrass me.
I like the looks of my car. I also really like the looks of the 14' Boss 302. I think ill dump money on appearance mods (that may slow me down).
You might as well have...
They are basically the same cars. The shape of the body is different. Weights similar (Charger slightly heavier). They have the similar trim lines.
Available for Charger and Challenger:
V6
5.7 RT (can purchase Track Pac)
6.4L SCAT PAC {2017 6.4 RT SCAT's can...
I can't get over the looks
Just can't. Looks like a ricer combined with a cartoonish pony car with no rear end and a "toilet lid" hood. Otherwise its a great car.
As for the earlier comment about it looking like a 2010.....it does only it looks WORSE. The 2010-2013 had ROUND lights. Those...
Both are best
I bought my 14' SRT in DEC of 13.' I ordered everything I wanted. It's mostly stock. CAI, TB, Exhaust, Front/Rear braces, tires, engine bling. I am very happy with the car. It's fast and great for long distance cruises. I'd be happy with a 5.0.
I preferred the looks of the...
