  1. 2020 Shadow Black looks... blue-ish?

Not to necro an old thread, but I recently bought a shadow black 2020 gt. I think the configurator was trying to illustrate that shadow black has green and blue flakes in the paint. It looks gloss black from far away, but if you get right up on it you can see all the blue and green metallic...
  2. Max HP on your stang.

First time I've seen horsepower so much higher than torque for a 2.3. Do you have headwork/cams done? Seems that the shitty flowing heads hold back the 2.3s quite a bit.
  3. 2017 3.7.. what should be my next mod?!

Turbos! JMP makes twin turbo kits for the S550 starting at $3700. https://www.facebook.com/jack.markgraf/posts/1751618454869480
  4. MPT Tune Officially out

Let us know! I've heard the gains are pretty noticeable especially at the strip.
  5. How bad did ford Sandbag the Ecoboost?

I think the head is the biggest and hardest factor to overcome. It's a great design for low down torque, but it flows incredibly bad higher in the rpm range. Even with a full port and valve job it's not even close to what the coyote and cyclone flow from the factory. This is even more evident...
  6. What makes the Cyclone such a durable engine?

Yeah on our cyclone group we have people who have been running 500 - 550 rwhp for years with no problem. There is even a guy running a little over 600 rwhp on E85 and beats the crap out of his car, but the jury is still out on how long that one will last.
  7. J-Pipes Help

I find it weird your car has drone at 2000 rpms. Normally V6 drone is in the 2500-3000 range. Maybe there is some weird resonance issue happening with your setup?
  8. J-Pipes Help

First you gotta find the frequency of the sound wave you are trying to cancel: f = RPM * pulses/rev * (1/60) f = 2000*3*(1/60) = 100Hz So the frequency of the sound of a 6 cylinder at 2000 RPMs is 100Hz - Now you have to figure out the length of the sound wave for the resonator. wavelength =...
  9. ecoboost engine and turbo cfm?

Wouldn't these calculations be meaningless considering the head can't support the CFM requirements in the first place? Besides the small turbo, the heads are the reason the horsepower drops off so much on the top end - meaning the volumetric efficiency at the higher rpms is probably nowhere...
  10. What is limiting RPM and TQ

The heads also flow TERRIBLY compared many other turbo 4 cylinders. I believe the stock heads flow less than 200 CFM on the intake stock and even when full ported only reach 240ish CFM at high lift. The exhaust ports are also super restrictive for high RPM horsepower, but they do help with low...
  11. BBK vs JBA shorties

There have been alot of cyclone owners who have recently bought these "Speed Daddy" headers. They are direct copies of the BBK headers for half the price. They dont come ceramic coated but they ARE stainless steel. A great deal if you havent already bought the BBKs. As someone who has installed...
  12. 58+% Power gain on just 8psi of ProCharger Supercharger Boost....

Unless you are shooting for big numbers I don't think you will need to build the bottom end. There are guys in the cyclone Facebook group, both supercharged and turboed, that have been pushing 500 to 550 rwhp for years now. There is also a guy on e85 at about 600 rwhp for a year now and he beats...
  13. 2018 Mustang GT Revealed (Video)!!

Fixed it with some quick MS paint!
  14. dyno graph

What are your mods? Because there is no way your sig is accurate with those numbers.
  15. Full Race Turbo Manifold

How does that 2.0 head flow compared to the 2.3 mustang head? I assume much better, given that you guys are going through the trouble of adapting it and making a new exhaust manifold for it...?
  16. How bad did ford Sandbag the Ecoboost?

Actually as it stands now, the 15s look to be making better numbers until you start porting upper and lower intakes on the 11-14s. It's suspected that the 15 manifold is a better design and would actually be an upgrade for the 11-14s. A member on the cyclone Facebook is going to give it a go soon.
  17. Ported intakes?

It actually is the plastic that gets dremeled away. The upper intake gets the silencing ridges removed and the TB port opened a bit. The lower gets the bunges around the injectors cleaned up and smoothed over while the ports leading into the head get opened up quite a bit. Peak gains have been...
  18. Convince me to tune this thing!

And I've read of more that are boosted on stock internals for years now and doing fine. Don't let some random occurrences deter you from getting your car tuned!
  19. Pro Cal tune--Ford Performance

  20. v6 vs ecoboost

The 1/4 mile record for an n/a cyclone is 12.3 right now. There are people looking to push that into the 11s within the next year or two. Turboed and procharged cyclones have seen mid to low 10's.
