The time below is from my VMP TVS Supercharged 2015 GT Auto, it had the Stage 3 kit on low boost (82mm/~10psi). The car just has a catback and JMS wheels, it is a full weight premium car with my big azz driving it. It leaves like a bat out of hell, I just put bigger DRs on it, so I'm going to...
This is great for MPG, but sucks for HP. The current 6r80 first gear is too aggressive when you start to get to 800-900rwhp, we've had to take rear end gear ratio out to get our drag 5.0l car to run more consistently at the track. We went from a 3.55 rear to a 2.73...and I still have 2.47s in...
9s shouldn't be an issue in most cases. I will say they shift more consistently once you do the upgraded clutch packs from exedy, like these:

4r70w is probably the best option for a 4spd lockup auto. I've put a 4l80 in a s197 and you have to move the trans crossmember back and clearance the floorpan. The 6r80 is pretty happy gear ratio wise until 800-900rwhp....so that is an option too.
robmustang201528, to answer your original question...
The VMP TVS supercharger kit for the 5.0l Mustang is similar to Roush, in that we both use TVS rotorpack technology from Eaton. We pick up where Roush leaves off HP-wise. Our kits are designed to support more power, with larger fuel...
I've heard that argument before, I will add another perspective to it.
I had a Boss 302 that I purchased in 2012 and began to open track/road race. It was awesome, handled great, 7500rpm redline, drive the hell out of it and go fast...
It overheated like a mofo after 3-4 laps on a hot...
By the time you rolled into BG they were shutting it down for rain...and they could not get the track dry until Sunday around noon...the weekend was a big wash, we are lucky to get the racing in that we did, I feel your pain.
We just got back from the NMRA world finals in Bowling Green, KY. The race was a mess as it rained Thurs, Fri, Sat, but that is another story.
My wife had the opportunity to run my Race Red 2015 auto, as I was pretty tied up on the dyno all weekend.
Last time out the car was going...
LOL...between tuning and testing with the HP tuners nGauge we ran out of time to test the CAI. I am going to go back and test several CAIs. I also plan to lock down timing so it does not effect power output, and we see the true gain from the CAI, not simply a gain from increased timing which...
A lot goes into belt system design when you get to higher boost levels.
You will be one of the first to use the HD blower belt tensioner.
Good luck Kelly, we use the VMP 8-rib conversion to run 8s in Rebecca Starkey's 2011 5.0l. Hopefully it will help you get to your goal.
Very nice burnin.
If the weather holds I am going to head out to OSW tonight and try for a 10.8 or so. We are about 2000ft DA this time of year as well.
Last night at OSW I made my first 10 second run. I've tried to keep this one simple, it has the Stage 3 kit running 10psi with the 82mm pulley. I am still rolling into the throttle on launch as the suspension and half shafts are all stock. The Nitto NT05Rs hook pretty decently after a very...
We are working on a high flow lid offering that will shield it from the rain but allow extra air at WOT.
We went through the closed vs open intake deal back in 2011...on low boost cars (85mm pulley), the closed airbox is better as it pulls cool air from the grill and gives you a little more...
