Wow that's terrible. Haven't seen damage that bad on a stock motor. As the other posters have asked, was it cylinder 8? I've heard that these engines have a tendency to run hot on the back two cylinders.

1. The vehicle has hill start assist that will lock the brakes closed on an incline so you shouldn't have to worry. 2. It's not just you, the shifter is terrible in these vehicles. Look into the BG synchroshift fluid swap, that helps smooth it out a bit.

I totally understand about the stock exhaust. I know not many people here have it but I have been insanely happy with my Exceledyne catback exhaust. It has a deep burble at idle and is somewhat loud at WOT without ever getting tinny or overbearing. The price is pretty hard to argue with too.

The interior volume is very mellow. I already had the Ford X pipe and my car has excessive NVH due to all of the suspension and bushing work I've had done to it. It doesn't drone at all and it's barely louder than stock inside. The sound is a little misleading though, videos don't do it justice...

My car makes this exact same noise and I have about 20,000 miles on it. GTPP here too. So far I've only had one dealership look at it and they said "normal operating noises". Anyone get to the bottom of what it is? Sound is absolutely awful.
