I’d think American Iron lap times would be a good target for comparison. The GT350 is faster but not sure I’d want to be out there at 100% + without a cage, etc. But the higher HP, better brakes, and better tires must be worth something.
I’m a Mustang guy all the way but the second dumbest automotive decision I’ve made was selling my Minerva Blue 996 GT3. GT3’s with a proper shifter are pretty much the most awesome thing on 4 wheels to drive.
I’d say Track the seat kit down by part number provided and do it. It’s a few hours for the install but not too tough. There are a couple threads here and/or PM me if you need any particular advice.
And the reason to do it is because Kids.
I love having a R with a rear seat. It’s not like...
Well right there’s the bottom line. If you go fast, they all wear out. Quickly. If you’re slower, and get them nice and heat cycled, you can petrify them and then might last longer but with no grip.
Best thing I did to enjoy the R in daily driving and grocery getting was to get the project6gr wheels and some 305/35’s all around. A lot of tire in the wells and the wheels look kinda sorta like the stock ones so I don’t think they detract too much from the R package look. The stock tires...
I checked my oil. 2000 miles now. Time to add the first quart ever.
Also got my State Farm bill - bastards dropped the car and now charging me $1,700/year
Ha - yeah, I have 3 kids so ... while they still like to go for a ride, I can do it.
Otherwise, I’d have a roll bar and a good seat installed and drive the snot out of it on track.
What I discovered is that, already having a race car, I’d rather track the race car. The GT350 just makes...
Quick few tips on the seat install. I got a kit months ago from Kohr but didn’t get around to the install until today. It took 2.5 hours and 2 IPA’s including googling misc photos since the directions are weak and I’m not that great of a mechanic. Carefully pulled the panels and did not pull...
I just checked my oil after a track event and 1800 miles of driving from new. Dipstick says it’s time to add a quart. Just a data point. I also have the frpp oil separators and there is no significant oil accumulated fwiw. No other issues on this 2017 GT350R fwiw.
