  1. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

its likely a tolerance stack up issue between the margins of the oil pump housing and the internal gear. Excessive tolerance can cause marring of the gear. Various youtube channels have pointed this out and solved the issue by manually verifying the housing tolerance with their respective...
  2. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

exactly well of course I'm not. I traded it in! I've been building cars for the last twenty years as a hobby. The noise was not normal. I could get under the car and drop the oil pan to check the rod caps, pull the front case to check the opg wear, and check the cams for abnormal wear, but...
  3. Per Ford (officially) the 2011-2019 F150/Mustang 5.0 “Typewriter Tick” is a normal characteristic

Just traded mine in. After 20k miles the 2k rpm tick evolved into a rattle present at all rpms. Since there's a tsb out for 2k rattle all dealerships in the area used it as ammo to call all rod knock like noises "normal operation". This was the first ford I've bought new and it is the last...
  4. When will ford.com support "Build a 2024 Mustang"?

lmao I assume he only put a deposit down?

Its words typed on a screen, you can re-read it but I suspect you have a problem with that.

  7. Any dealerships in florida sell new s/c'd mustangs?

Is there any dealership in Florida, or the southwest, that sells s/c mustang gt's like lebanon ford?
  8. Anyone with a 2018+ gt with a remote oil filter have 2k-3k RPM tick?

The rattle, I got the terms mixed up because of another thread lol.
  9. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

The remote oil filter plate eliminates the oil control solenoid that reduces the oil pressure, per ford. Agreed on the bbq tick matter. Honestly, I was more concerned about the 2k-3k rattle but that's not what this thread is about.
  10. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

No, the oil control solenoid is probably just being over-run. I see low teens every time since 4 miles, though. I was hoping someone who has the relocated oil filter kit could chime in so I started another thread. No luck.
  11. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

According to the map a few posts up, it should be 8 psi till it warms up then it switches to 20-23.
  12. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

This seems like extremely relevant and significant information for addressing ticking issues on the 18+ coyote motors. Was this already mentioned in the thread and I am just bringing up old stuff? Why did ford fix this on the f150 and not the mustang gt lol, maybe it pushed the mustang's mpg...
  13. BBQ tick - another attempt to understand

What does it matter? For the same conditions, less pressure IS less flow. The oil filter bypass is a differential pressure inside the filter, so that's gonna happen when cold. It might save you from some leaks but you still see those pressures under operation anyways. I hear you about the...
