the fox body hatches actually were heavier than the notchbacks. one of the reasons highway patrols used notch backs. but that weight savings was actually minimal, probably less than 100 lbs.

I stopped looking at carfax years ago after the wife's lexus was sideswiped taking out every panel except the front fender. dealer fixed it under our insurance. sold it years later with a clean carfax. right there and then, knew carfax was pretty much useless.

To me, the S550 has always had a similar feel as the 1969 mustangs. both look, low, and mean. Add a few modern touches and there you have it.

I think most performance specific cars are terrible for resale. Pretty much why I'm driving my GT like I stole it. would hate to try to sell it in 5 years and never have enjoyed it just to get a 1-2 thousand more in value.

I think 4th/5th around town. I have the Performance Pack and even at 65 mph 6th feels a little tough. 70+ and 6th starts feeling right.

California plates stay on the car for the lifetime of the car. That was a weird concept for me being originally from NY. there, I moved my plates from car to car. I must be assimilating to left coast culture because now the plates staying on the car makes total sense to me....
