I'd bet if the GT receives it's rumored HP bump to 455-475hp, and the 10spd auto which is confirmed, I bet it will beat the GT350 in a drag race only, and only the auto.
I am curious what Ford meant by "comparable" track times. I know they said they compared them at Grattan raceway, but that was also Ford's internal comparison.
In comparison to what? All depends on your perspective. If I wanted a track focused car that could run the ring in the 7:30s... uhh yes it was a bargain.
If I wanted a Camaro that had great performance but was an all around car... nope not a bargain.
Well realistically the GT350 isn't selling for MSRP, and I don't forsee that changing in 2017 either.
Realistically I can walk into a ford dealer and pay over sticker for a GT350R or a GT350. Realistically I can walk into a Chevy dealer and buy a Z06 at invoice. I most certainly will be able...
