Sorry, I missed that fact that you folks are on the other side of the pond when I commented. What is the corrosion warranty ( vary by country? ) there and you have to have it inspected at certain intervals? Over here, the Mustangs and Explorers have a problem with the aluminum hoods. For some...
You don’t need to have the vehicle serviced there to have warranty. Corrosion warranty has nothing to do with service work Look in your warranty booklet or go online at owner.ford.com or call Ford’s Customer Assistance Center. Explorers and Mustangs have this concern.
5 years unlimited miles for corrosion from warranty start date. Aluminum panel corrosion doesn’t need to break the surface. Just had my hood done(replaced and painted) Wash my car and towel dry every week (daily driver). Noticed it 15 days before the 5 year mark. Whew!
After putting on a GT 350 intake and CAI with new throttle body and a Lund custom tune, I can (no mashing to 100 mph + ) get 28 mpg on road trips. 5.0L with 3.73 gears and 6 speed manual. Key to that is “can get”.
Depending on who’s tune it is, sometimes you have to load the stock tune(don’t run) and make your changes. Save and then reinstall your custom tune.
