My head unit came with a mic that I ran the wire up top on the edge of the liner and the windshield. Call quality is great of the mic. The scosche kit eliminates it completely.

Thanks bud :cheers: Its the Kenwood DNX893S. It was pricey but well worth it. It has a ll the features I wanted. Plus it makes the stock speakers better, not great but better lol

It takes out sync completely but it does retain the steering wheel controls. I haven't tried the mic button yet to see what it does. My Kenwood came with a separate mic so I'm not concerned about the sync mic.

It does not help with the reflection. It because of the limited space there is being the stereo. I believe they made the hump so the stereo wouldn't just be popping out. The stereo barely fit. It is all the way back.

The only cutting involved is just the plastic behind the screen that holds up the black module. I would suggest investing in a Dremel if you don't have one already. I made the cut in less than 5 minutes. Very easy. Yes you do permanent modifications but it's just hold up that black module...

Well i got my scosche kit saturday and installed it sunday. I had my doubts at first but once everything is installed its freaking amazing. The fit is amazing, pictures dont do it justice. It looks plain but it feels right at home with everything else. The install of the kit was really easy...

Well I wasn't too happy with the Metra kit and I ended up canceling the order from abt.com I did not want to be the guinea pig lol ordered the scosche kit hopefully I get it in a week. I have my new Kenwood dnx893 waiting to be installed.

So I found a pic of the metra in color and with a stereo installed and it actually doesnt look too bad. I think the black and white low quality pic didnt do it justice. Thoughts?

I did not notice it till now. Hmmm dont really like the way it looks. I liked how it looked in the publicity pics cause it kinda blended in with no humps. Now i dont know if i want it lol. This is going to be tough, it either wait out the supposed 2 week delay to see which one I get or just...

The Abt electronics website has the 4'' metra kits on sale, just ordered mine with an expected date of February 21st thru the 28th. Still dont what the difference between the metra and scoshe kits are but cant beat the sale price...

Thanks Doug for taking the time to take the photos and giving us some info on the install. I think it looks waaayyyy better than the 4.3 inch screen with all those ugly buttons lol. Can't wait to get mine. I wonder if any after market stereos will let you integrate the stock back up camera...
