For those of you purchasing PS4S and mounting on R wheels or R spec wheels; Billy Johnson recommends 295/305 on the PS4S for GT350 owners. "295/305 PS4S (with its 11.1"/11.5" tread widths) is a better fitment for steering response and handling than the 305/325 (11.5"/12.2" tread width)" Johnson, B., GT350 Owners group 10AUG17.

I would think 305 all around would be better than 295/305 on R spec wheels. R spec wheels are 305/315.

I would say the professional drivers recomendation is probably solid.

I read about the tread width. That makes sense. They are different from tire to tire.

Crap, figures. I just ordered 305/325 PS4S for my R spec Forgeline wheels. Oh well, I guess I'll find out for myself in a couple of weeks.

Although this article has some valuable tuning information, it is all subjective and applies only to those that are serious about needing the additional 1-2% performance factor.
I have the 305/325 setup on my GT350 and I can tell you it is significantly better than the 295/305 setup as it came from the factory. I find the control when pushing it at the extreme limits for handling is better with the new configuration.

I have 305/325 in R spec P51s.

Overall it handles roughly the same. Braking performance increased a touch according to the accelerometer.

The 295/305 would probably handle slightly better and have less poke. But we're talking street performance, you'd never know

The PS4S are wider than the GT350 OEM MPSS and most tires in the same size.

What I noticed right away going from SC2 to the PS4S was the additional tread squirm that the SC2 obviously has very little of. Also, as with all new tires, they were a bit greasy at first. They have gotten better after 100+ miles but still not as sharp as the SC2s. Makes sense that a slightly narrower tire would return a little of that sharpness that one likes about the SC2.

By slightly narrower is an overstatement. SC2's 305/315 11"/11.7 vs PS4S 295/305 11.1"/11.5

I thought I looked all of this up before...now wish I looked a bit closer. I'm not really tracking the car so it might not make a huge difference to me, performance-wise but I don't really love the poke on the 325s.

I hope this is the case. I do plan on switching to 305/315 in the future though either for PSC2s if I end up tracking a lot or 315 PS4S when they release more sizes.

I bet if he was stroking the check they would all be the same size!

Wonder what Dean Martin would recommend:p
