With the amount of smoke coming out of mine, I thought it was on fireI hate to think what would of happened if never spotted, worse case is car could go up in flames if enough oil gets onto the red hot exhaust.

Yeah same. I originally thought my rear brakes were stuck on :lol:With the amount of smoke coming out of mine, I thought it was on fire
Do you need to as the TSB was specific regarding this issue on cars built prior to 26th July'16? Wasn't yours built after this?Ps I have just had confirmation from mishimoto uk that their cooler fits rhd...
Ordering before next oil change now.
Always my worry, but at least it wouldn't be coolant contamination :shrug:Do you need to as the TSB was specific regarding this issue on cars built prior to 26th July'16? Wasn't yours built after this?
Also, if the aftermarket oil cooler failed itself and messed up the engine, Ford will very likely refuse any fix to the engine through warranty.
I would be very cautious of this.
Me too - £528 is a lot to pay while still in warrantyThis may well be the path I take immediately prior to the warranty running out however.
I thought this was the case, as Mishimoto have it on their UK site and Amazon account.Ps I have just had confirmation from mishimoto uk that their cooler fits rhd...

Mine was a Jn '16 build - so now find myself checking the coolant tank after every run!I was wondering if this is a bad batch of oil coolers, has anyone had this from the first build dates (Aug 15 on)
I'm on 15000 miles.Agree it's going to be on your mind especially on a long road trip, really bad it's happening.Seems like RHD changes were a bodge job :tsk:
Jim I emailed Paul about it on Monday and sent him the tsb. My car is going in shortly and want it checked out not just glanced atUpdate from dealer.
Part will be here tomorrow. Spoke about the TSB and it was the 1st he had heard of it. Ford technical hadn't heard of it either so I have emailed him the link.
He mentioned they have dropped the oil and it looked fine.
Have asked for another oil change once I'm back from France and he seemed happy to oblige.
Apart from this TSB issue I can't fault ford so far. Pretty quick turnaround. They will also look at the with door noise for me whilst I'm there. And they will hopefully pull through with the service for me too.
Something is bound to go wrong soon
