I hate to think what would of happened if never spotted, worse case is car could go up in flames if enough oil gets onto the red hot exhaust.
With the amount of smoke coming out of mine, I thought it was on fire :D

Ok folks, so mmr and mishimoto do air / oil coolers that mount up front and replace the exiting item. What stops them being direct fits for rhd, does anyone know?
Presumably the gt350 oil cooler could be made to fit too.
I'm after a decent solution before mine fails.

Do you need to as the TSB was specific regarding this issue on cars built prior to 26th July'16? Wasn't yours built after this?

Also, if the aftermarket oil cooler failed itself and messed up the engine, Ford will very likely refuse any fix to the engine through warranty.

I would be very cautious of this.

Always my worry, but at least it wouldn't be coolant contamination
This may well be the path I take immediately prior to the warranty running out however.

Me too - £528 is a lot to pay while still in warranty

Update from dealer.
Part will be here tomorrow. Spoke about the TSB and it was the 1st he had heard of it. Ford technical hadn't heard of it either so I have emailed him the link.
He mentioned they have dropped the oil and it looked fine.
Have asked for another oil change once I'm back from France and he seemed happy to oblige.
Apart from this TSB issue I can't fault ford so far. Pretty quick turnaround. They will also look at the with door noise for me whilst I'm there. And they will hopefully pull through with the service for me too.

Something is bound to go wrong soon

I thought this was the case, as Mishimoto have it on their UK site and Amazon account.

Do you think we could get a group buy from someone ? - I'm such a cheap skate :D

I was wondering if this is a bad batch of oil coolers, has anyone had this from the first build dates (Aug 15 on)
I'm on 15000 miles.Agree it's going to be on your mind especially on a long road trip, really bad it's happening.Seems like RHD changes were a bodge job :tsk:

Mine was a Jn '16 build - so now find myself checking the coolant tank after every run!

Just go back from a round trip to Birmingham - averaged 30.1 mpg over 170 miles.. though you can thank 'smart' motorways for much of that!

Just watch the Mishimoto oil cooler alleging for RHD as Mike at Modurstang has experimented with one and it did not fit. The MMR oil cooler fits the RHD and he has fitted a few now without any problems. Give him a phone to find out. Mine is with him at present for the supercharge build.
