Congrats to Donnie Gilder for taking home the win in the Heavy Street Class in his Steeda equipped S550 Mustang.

Donnie Gilder ran his daily driven 2015 Mustang in the heavy street class. He was the number 3 qualifier but when it was all said and done he was the 2017 Heavy Street Champ!

Sometimes it’s not the fastest car that wins but the most consistent. From Friday morning till Sunday afternoon, Donnie’s car ran in the bottom 9’s to the high 8’s with some stout 1.28-1.31 short times. The car was working so well that Donnie admitted after the race that it never spun once all weekend. “Hats off to the Steeda team for really dialing in the rear suspension” said tuner Sai Li. He helps Donnie make the horsepower needed to put a 4,000 lb car into the 8’s and live.

Donnie parts list includes:

Sai Li short block
Sai Li fuel system and custom tune
Brett LaSala 6R80
Entire Steeda stop the hop package
Steeda IRS Brace’s
Steeda IRS Bushing inserts
Steeda Solid Diff Bushings
Steeda Adjustable Camber Arms
Steeda Adjustable Toe Links
Steeda Vertical Links
Steeda Rear Control Arm Bearing
Steeda Drag Rear Swaybar with Billet mounts
Steeda front drag springs and adjustable coilover front struts
Steeda rear drag springs and adjustable rear shocks with billet mounts
Steeda custom drag race spec’ed alignment

Donnie did very well! I was happy to see that car finally work well from the launch to the finish line!

There were some amazing cars at mod nationals, no doubt!

We happened to have a race winning BMR Equipped S550 at the same event. With less than 10 total passes on this car since it was finished being built one week ago, we managed to get it into the 1.25 sixty foot range and run 8.30s en route to winning the 6R80 Transmission shootout class!

This car relies on the BMR 1.2 sixty foot IRS mod recipe, which is the step below our 1.1 recipe.

BMR Front and Rear Springs
STOCK front struts
Viking Rear Shocks with stock shock mounts
Stock rear sway bar (actually going to remove it soon and run no sway bar)

The progress of the car since it was built has been:

1.35 sixty foot
1.32 sixty foot
1.30 sixty foot
1.29 sixty foot
1.29 sixty foot
1.28 sixty foot
1.25 sixty foot

CB005 FTW!

This car not even once even thought about spinning a tire. We are shooting for low 1.2's next!

Ken at PBD just got the video done of Jimmy K's car! Check it out, it's wicked!

BMR now has 1.19, 1.24 and now 1.25 sixty-foot performances with our full suspension, alignment and shock setting combinations! All on 17" wheels!

If you're referring to BMR, shoot me an email and I'll fix you up my friend. [email protected]

I'm solo here at BMR for the Ford segment, so I'm a little behind at this point.

Email is always best. Look forward to chatting!

Not only are people in love with the BMR CB005 for their daily driven streetcars, but our Cradle Bushing Lockout kit is also on many record setting and race winning vehicles.

The S550 IRS Record was smashed recently by Sheldon Lewis of SPR.

This 4025lb car went 7's in the 1/4-Mile with the full array of BMR rear suspension pieces, to include our ever so popular CB005! Wowza!

I just switched from the Steeda IRS Subframe brace to the BMR CB005. Happy to report that I had no wheel hop on the Steeda solution, and no wheel hop on the BMR solution. Both are great solutions.

Only reason why I switched to BMR, is because I wanted the full length jacking rails. There's also less stuff to disassemble if you need to drop the subframe again for whatever reason. Also, BMR's bushing lockouts are a bit simpler to install than steeda's.

Both are good solutions, can't go wrong with either.

How do the vertical links reduce wheel hop? There doesn't seem to be any compliance in the stock units, and I very seriously doubt the added stiffness of the aftermarket links provides any real benefit. Is there any proof that these help? Has someone done all the other modifications and still had the issue until they replaced the vertical links?
