There was a problem reported by some users that when they did the upgrade they lost Navigation, that spot on the screen just was blank.
If that was the case, then why doesn't Ford fix the Sync2 software update and re-host it as maybe version 3.9 so people can still upgrade if they want?

If v3.8 just ads "Siri Eyes Free", I'm not really interested anyway unless there is something else v3.8 improves or fixes over my current 3.7 version.

Is there any way to go back to v3.7 if v3.8 bombs out and doesn't work right?

That's exactly what they are doing. The Ford customer care rep I talked to said they are very close to releasing the update. He didn't tell me what the revision number would be so I don't know if it is a fixed 3.8 or additional updates making 3.9. He couldn't say when it would be out but he said it had already gone through testing and waiting for the final approval. I asked if he thought it would be out by the end of the year and he said he didn't see why not.

when you're talking to a ford rep and ask the question "what day of the week is it", they're trained response is "it could be any day of the week, looks like its between sunday and friday"................so you never get an actual response thats why I stopped asking them anything and started looking for an answer online

I did this upgrade to 3.8, went smooth and took every bit as long as they predicted. This is great, now I can use Siri eyes free. I love being able to send texts as I drive, I wouldn't do that before. I do have 1 problem now though. On my same iPhone 6+ I was using before, now Sync won't read incoming texts to me. It says the phone I'm using doesn't support text via bluetooth yet it was working fine on 3.7. Any ideas? Anyone else with iPhone experience the same with 3.8?

You definitely gave me the idea and encouragement but I didn't see a link. I Googled it and found it available on an F150 forum.

I'd really like to get it so that it will read text messages when they came in like before. At least before I could hear the message if someone texted me and then call them. Wondering if anyone else had this issue with iPhone.

SYNC 2 MFT Updated to Version 3.10

I towed my car to the dealer for some electrical issues this week. Picked it up yesterday. They replaced the battery and updated my SYNC 2 MFT to Version 3.10.16180.EA.0_PRODUCT.

Date Confirmed: Mar 22, 2017 Version: SYNC2 - V3.10

ABOUT THE LATEST UPDATE
The new software update for SYNC® with MyFord Touch® systems includes all the improvements from previous updates, plus additional changes to accommodate new and updated customer devices, such as:
Hazard switch illuminates on Focus / Escape with ignition off and park lamps on
Next Track / Previous Track controls from SYNC touchscreen
SYNC Maintaining Repeat / Shuffle settings that were set on the device side
Compatibility updates for the latest phone and media devices
The installation of this update will take up to 30 minutes to complete.
Be sure to keep your engine running (not in accessory mode) throughout the entire installation process. Turning off your vehicle during the update installation will disrupt the process. Although your vehicle must be in park when you begin the installation process, you may drive your vehicle while the update is downloading to your SYNC® system.
If your vehicle is equipped with the Intelligent Access with Push Button Start feature, you will need to temporarily disable the Automatic Engine Idle Shutdown (AEIS) component before beginning the installation in order to prevent your vehicle from timing out and shutting off the engine before the software update is complete. To disable this feature, use your steering wheel controls to navigate to the Settings menu on your left-hand Instrument Cluster LCD display. From there, select Vehicle >Auto Engine Off >Off. (If you do not see this setting, there is no need to make any changes before starting the update.)
Alternatively, after initiating the installation, you may drive the vehicle during the update process to avoid shutting off the engine. The next time you start your vehicle, the AEIS will automatically reset to "On."
Please note: During the update installation, SYNC® will temporarily appear to not recognize your mobile phone or media device. This is normal. Once your system has been successfully updated, SYNC® will display a notification stating "Installation complete."

Date Confirmed: Jun 5, 2015 Version: SYNC2 v3.7

Sync 2 will never support either. That is what Sync 3 is for. Sync 2 is dead and will not get any more updates other than bug fixes, if that.
