I am picking up my '17 GT Premium 6 speed tomorrow.

I plan on daily driving it with occasional weekend drag racing at my local track.

Is the trunk big enough (and the opening) to fit 2 x 26"x10"15" slicks and a small jack?

I'd rather transport the wheels in the trunk and than the rear seats.

Thanks!

How are you getting 15" wheels to fit the rear? Different brake setup?

Don't 15" fit the rear of the S550? I'm sure I've seen youtube videos of S550s running slicks on 15" rear wheels. Unless I am mistaken?

What size rear slicks do most S550 owners run?

Not without a drag rear brake setup in which you lose your parking brake. Most guys run a 17" slick.

Ah ok...Great info.

So, same question. Can I fit a 17" slick setup in the trunk?

And what do most people run as size and brand for a manual car, stock everything. Is there a 26" tall slick out there for a 17" wheels?

I don't plan on doing many power mods, just want to maximize what the car comes with from the factory.

I do plan on a short throw shifter, probably the BMR CB005 kit, maybe the Steeda clutch spring. I might also end up with the Ford Performance pack 2 sometime down the road.

Stock tire height is 28" just FYI. 26's will change your gearing which could be good or bad.

17's will clear your stock rears perfectly and 16's will fit if you drop the rear brakes down to base ecoboost/V6 brakes.

28's for sure will not fit in the trunk. You can fit one in the trunk and one in the backseat which is what my friend does when he goes to the track.

Well with 3.31 rear gears, 4th 1.315 and a 26" tall tire, if I can get to pull to power peak just before the traps and cross the line at 6600 rpm, that should result in a 117 MPH.

Key is getting as much power down to get to 6600 rpm in 4th.

And still plenty of room for more MPH, 6750 RPM 120 mph.

All this is bench racing until I actually get the car and then get it to the track ;)

Flip the rear seats down and you can put them side by side in the trunk.

My 28x10 17 Hoosiers fit fine.

As far as brake clearance, not all 17's are a perfect fit. The Cobra reps I got (17x9) drag on the rear caliper on the inner barrel. I have to see if the 5/16 spacers I got take care of it. I have been lazy.

With rear seats down 28 in Hoosiers will easily fit with plenty of extra room for Jack n stuff. I actually had 4 tires in there. I run my on racestars.
