With my engine issues, I am considering getting out of this car. Initially GT3 was what I was after but at 2x the price but same performance, its a tough pill to swallow so maybe I said I should look into getting an R. The thing is, how bad are ADMs? 75k is maximum I want to spend assuming I get 50-52 for my 2017.

$5k is realistic... if you're willing to hunt or it or have it shipped...or you live in the middle of the country.

Google states in the middle of America.

Then start calling dealerships.

Smack in the middle here.....still marked way up. One dealer has an 18R on the way but not sure if it is sold or not.

I have spoken to 16 dealers so far, lowest I got is 10k over. There are still some who is asking for 30-40k over.

If you have a lead, please let me know

I went on Ford.com and found an R around the corner.. dropped by the dealer and sat in it - still in plastic, something like 3-5mi on the clock. They said they turned down $15k out of town offer, I offered $5k -- told them when they're tired of it collecting dust give me a shout. Two days later I drove out with it.

Sure - not all dealers will be that easy, but there's definitely ones that will. Try and speak with a sales manager minimum, GM preferable, not a sales person.

I think the secret is simply being ready to buy. As Mr. Cincy noted above, if you say "I will buy the car today for $XX,XXX." They might say no, initially but you may well get a phone call in a day or so. Patience is your friend.

Are all the cheap ones in Texas sold? There were quite a few of them.

Which is still 7k over for a previously owned car. I get it, you pay 10-15+ over and are taking a hit at 75(asking), but that's not going to change the fact 7k over is pretty much the high side for a brand new one these days, and less if you put some time in.JMO
