I wish it’s posible for someone to do a dyno comparison of the power packs avail with 2015-17 vs the DI Coyote stock. I would like to see how the DI effects the torque curve compared to giving the S550 more air and a tune like the power packs do.

Considering the stock DI Coyote is still on a conservative stock tune, I think it would be fair to see both with the same power packs on. I guess it also depends on what the tuners are saying about the new DI Coyote and the amount of headroom left to tweak timing.

your about 40 more rwhp out of the gate.... so 18 should be even nastier when modded

I’m just curious to compare the power under the curve between a modded 15-17 vs a stock 18. Would give me a good indicator of how the 18 might be as a DD, as well as how close does the power packs get you to what a 18 puts out stock.

I feel like the 18 has a more aggressive factory tune than prior years, especially the auto that has the "drag mode." I suspect a 91/93 tune on a 18 won't do nearly as much as a 15-17

The comparison in the 99-01 Cobra and Mach1 were the same thing. It was like they just took the 01 Cobra tune and just gave it a nice update. So the Cobra would gain more from a tune, even though when tuned they would make similar power. Ford left less on the table with the Mach1 ECU.

Not sure what makes them do this some year, but not others.

I've also seen Ford release an ECU update that totally destroyed the power on cars.

Yea the 15-17 manuals (maybe the autos too but I haven't tuned an auto) were absolutely neutered by the tune. When you shift the car fast, there is an obvious hesitation between gears with the clutch/trans protection. The new autos with the drag mode I'm betting don't do that.
