Thought I'd write up a brief summary of my installation...

To make access easy, I started by jacking up the car with a standard jack and then drop it on drive up ramps (got idea from Obessed Garage-thanks).

Then find the rear set and front set of bolts to be removed... Four in total.

These are the front...

Note: The bolts are close together - match that to the spacing on the rail...

These are the back bolts...

Spaced further apart than the front by a couple inches.

Remove all four factory bolts - an inexpensive battery powered impact gun will make quick work of it...

Then using either the bolts that come with the kit or reusing the factory bolts, start by hand each bolt for several turns. Holding the bar with one hand and sliding front to back while starting all four bolts made it line up quickly.

Make sure the side of the rail with the lip is on the inside of the car (towards the middle).

Below are few pictures to better show the orientation of the rail relative to the outer edge of the car. Hit each bolt (note I used factory bolts) but don't over tighten. After completed, I came back to each bolt to make sure they were tight when applying force by hand instead of impact gun.

After I removed the ramps and dropped the car, I tried a quick jack from the middle of the bar and went up nice and straight with no fuss to find a good seam, etc.

These are going to make track day swap of tires a breeze. Love them.

Well engineered, went on without any problems. Alignment of bolts using hand start of all four went without incident. May regret not using supplied bolts, but factory ones still had loctite and were longer than supplied, so stayed with factory.

I'm happy I won't have to worry about bending the flimsy seam weld, so for me these were well worth it.

I like to disassemble things.
Good move. I have the BMR's as I don't want to trash the pinch weld either. Really nice to be able to just slide a jack under there and not have to worry.

They're so helpful on this car. Definitely my next buy.

Some of us have seem sealer that needs to be removed (at least I did w the BMRs). I also hit the areas where seam sealer was removed and where the paint was thin w Rustoleum clear. (Another thanks to Epiphany for the tip!) Jacking definitely helped

Thanks for the write-up. To clarify for those contemplating adding these, jacking up the car is not required for installation - even my old ass was able to install them from the ground.
Yep. Easy install. I just drove up on the race ramps and a half hour later, I was off the ramps again.

Great product from steeda and these rails make routine work much easier.
