GT500's have the 2.66 first gear TR6060 and 3.31 rear gears. Unbelievably long (and sluggish) gearing, its why they are such a slouch in the 1/4 mile times even with all the power they make. For reference most guys do a 4.09 rear gear with the 2.66 first gear TR6060/Magnum.

Just goes to the ol' mantra, spinning aint winning. Even though the really tall gearing of the GT500 makes it overall kinda sluggish, it is much more manageable on the streets and obviously faster than a 3.73 boosted PP car putting on a smoke show.

I took the mustang over to Harbor freight the other day with the slicks (28x10x17) on with about 11lbs of air. Just happened to line up to a new Camaro at a traffic light... Dropped it off the twostep at 3800rpm and it hooked and went, better than it has the two times I have been to the track with them. The guy followed me in the parking lot and him and his girlfriend swore that the front tires came off the ground...
What kinda suspension mods ya got?

Nothing special, Bmr drag springs, Viking shocks, no front swaybar. Only been to the track twice with it w/slicks, so still playing with the alignment, shock settings, and tire pressure. So far have been 1.52 60' dropping off 2step at 3800.

I currently have the same 2.66 first gear (Magnum XL) and 3.31 rear end combo in my 3.2 KB car .
I am sure it will be faster once I go to a 4.10 rear (but with additional shift )....but 10.0@144/1.5x 60ft with a 26" tire (@7900 rpm) and 10.1@148 with 28" tire is still no slouch !
