My buddy just installed his whipple stage two kit and the intercooler fans will not turn off. It is also making a clicking noise every three minutes and it sounds like it is coming from the throttle body. Any help you guys have would be great.

The fans and pump are triggered by the PCM on our cal, custom cals are triggered by factory fuse. It has constant power and on/off from ground control. Need to trace wire and see. If its our cal, may be plugged into wrong IMRC connector, verify wire colors.

They HAVE to run all the time to work. That's what they're there for. Motors have thermostats and target temps. Intercoolers target temp is as cold as you can get it. The colder the water, the colder the manifold air temps will be. At high mph, you have air speed/velocity and volume cooling the water. At low mph and idle, you only have surface area to cool which is far less effective.

Is the harness different for the Tuner kit vs complete stage twokit or do they all tie into the IMRC wire?

Yes, it's in the instructions both ways. Competition kits can't trigger pump/fans with IMRC so it needs a fuse tap.

Not meaning to hijack the thread but what do we need to do if we start out with the whipple cal and want to switch to a custom tune?

Put back to stock with flare tool or use Ford IDS tool to flash back to stock.

You would also need to rewire the ic pump and fans per instructions with a fuse tap and relay.
